Current treatments for ischemic stroke aim to achieve rapid reperfusion with intravenous thrombolysis and/or endovascular thrombectomy, which have proven to attenuate disability. Despite the significant progress in reperfusion therapies, functional recovery remains inconsistent, primarily due to ongoing neuronal excitotoxicity and neuroinflammation. In this study we investigated the relationship between neuronal activity and neuroinflammation in an ischemic mouse model using chemogenetic techniques.

Fixation is a critical step in green tea processing, and the moisture content of the leaves after fixation is a key indicator of the fixation quality. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS)-based moisture detection technology is often applied in the tea processing industry. However, temperature fluctuations during processing can cause changes in the NIRS curves, which in turn affect the accuracy of moisture prediction models based on the spectral data.

Background: Patients with C3 glomerulopathy (C3G) often have a history of infection, which implies that infection may lead to abnormal activation of the complement alternative pathway (CAP) and induce the development of C3G. However, patients with postinfectious glomerulonephritis (PIGN) often have a low serum C3 concentration and positive glomerular C3 staining, consistent with the activation of the CAP. PIGN, especially if it involves simultaneous IgA deposition, is often difficult to differentiate from C3G.

Silk is widely utilized in high-end fashion apparel, home textiles and other fields due to its excellent comfort and air permeability and moisture permeability. However, inkjet printing on silk typically requires two printings on the front and back side to obtain a good color performance, leading to high process cost and low efficiency. Herein, clean and efficient inkjet printing is achieved using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose/sodium alginate (HPMC/SA) graded to regulate the surface tension of silk.

Sepsis is defined as a life-threatening condition caused by a dysregulated host response to infection, leading to multi-organ dysfunction, and representing a significant global health burden. The progression of sepsis is closely linked to disruptions in lung microbiota, including bacterial translocation, impaired barrier function, and local microenvironmental disturbances. Conversely, the worsening of sepsis exacerbates lung microbiota imbalances, contributing to multi-organ dysfunction.

Compressed ultrafast photography (CUP) is a high-speed imaging technique with a frame rate of up to ten trillion frames per second (fps) and a sequence depth of hundreds of frames. This technique is a powerful tool for investigating ultrafast processes. However, since the reconstruction process is an ill-posed problem, the image reconstruction will be more difficult with the increase of the number of reconstruction frames and the number of pixels of each reconstruction frame.

Hypoxia ischemia (HI) is a leading cause of cerebral palsy and long-term neurological sequelae in infants. Given that mitochondrial dysfunction in neurons contributes to HI brain damage, this study aimed to investigate the regulatory role of miR-9-5p in mitochondrial function following HI injury. Overexpression of miR-9-5p in HI mice or HO-exposed PC12 cells suppressed neuronal injury, associated with increased mitochondrial copy number, normalizing mitochondrial membrane potential, improved nuclear factor-erythroid factor 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) activation, and downregulation of Keap1.

Introduction: Focal atrial tachycardia (FAT) is predominant in the pediatric population. Recent research has identified cases of sustained FAT originating from the interatrial septum (IAS); a subset of cases presents a unique challenge, with foci originating from the peri-patent foramen ovale (peri-PFO), requiring specialized management during catheter ablation. Here, we present a rare case of peri-PFO-associated FAT that resulted in tachycardia-related cardiomyopathy and propose a comprehensive multipath joint strategy for the successful treatment of PFO-associated FAT.
