The G allele of rs4702 polymorphism has been reported to reduce the production of mature BDNF and FURIN, both of which were closely associated with cognitive functions. Real-time PCR, ELISA and luciferase assay were performed to explore the interactions between miR-338-3p, FURIN and BDNF. T-RFLP was used to assess the intestinal flora in the stool samples of glioma patients after radiotherapy.

To retrospectively analyze the clinical characters and prognosis of the patients with Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinomas as First Primary Malignancy (ESCCFPM), which will help us better understand the relationship between Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ESCC) and other cancers, and to provide appropriate research evidence for the clinical diagnosis and treatment. The clinicopathological and follow-up data of 540 Patients with ESCCFPM between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2016 were collected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database of National Cancer Institute. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to determine Overall Survival (OS) curves of ESCC patients, and the Log-Rank test was used to estimate differences in survival.

The structures of hyperforcinols A-J were determined by HRESIMS and 1D/2D NMR spectroscopic analysis, and their absolute configurations were determined by a combination of the electronic circular dichroism (ECD) exciton chirality method, ECD calculations, and X-ray diffraction analysis. A selection of 25 isolates, possessing seven types of carbon skeletons, were assessed for their in vitro effects against nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) using a free fatty acid-induced L02 cell model.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFNon-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is the progressive stage of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease that may ultimately lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer, and there are few therapeutic options for its treatment. Physalin B (PB), a withanolide isolated from Physalis species (Solanaceae), exhibits a broad spectrum of biological activities, however, the potential role of PB in NASH has not been evaluated. The present study investigated the protective effects of PB against NASH and further elucidated the mechanisms of PB in hepatic autophagy and oxidative stress in vitro and in vivo.

The case number of PTB in China accounted for 9% of the global total in 2018, which ranked the second high in the world. From 2007 to 2019, 854 672 active PTB cases were registered and treated in Henan Province, China.

Although it is known that CUEDC2 is expressed disparately in breast cancer, ovarian carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, glioma, lung adenocarcinoma, colon cancers, and is involved in the Warburg's effect, its role in oncogenesis remains to be further explored. In this review, we examine the expression of CUEDC2 in various tumors, and discuss several fundamental signaling pathways that are impacted by CUEDC2.

However, excessive exploitation for the amoebocyte lysate of Tachypleus has dramatically decreased the population of the Chinese horseshoe crabs. Thus, we present sequencing, assembly and annotation of T.

A polyoxomolybdate based hybrid, [δ-MoO](L)·2HO (BUC-77), was synthesized via hydrothermal method, which exhibited selectively fluorescent detection and efficient adsorptive removal toward Pb in aqueous environment. A good linearity was observed between the fluorescence quenching percentage of BUC-77 and the Pb concentration, along with the detection limit being 6.91 ppb.

However, the association between the dysregulation of lncRNAs and functional alterations in gastric cancer (GC) remains unclear. In previous studies, we applied microarray and bioinformatics analyses to screen for key lncRNAs from the tumor tissues and matched adjacent non-tumor tissues of 10 patients with GC.

The aim of the present study is to investigate LUAD-specific key microRNAs (miRNAs) from large-scale samples in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. We used an integrative computational method to identify LUAD-specific key miRNAs related to TNM stage and lymphatic metastasis from the TCGA database.

In the present study, we aimed to elucidate the potential underlying mechanism of 2,2',4,4'-tetrabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-47)-induced neurotoxicity and cognitive impairment. Our results showed that BDE-47-treated mice exhibited impaired cognition and robust upregulation of nuclear TDP-43 in the hippocampus.

Objective: To determine the role of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase--protein kinase B (PI3K-Akt) signaling pathway in the pro- tective effect of aerobic endurance training on the skeletal muscular mitochondria.
Methods: Thirty-six rats were randomly divided into three groups( n = 12): control group, aerobic endurance training group and one-time exhaustive group. After the intervention, the quadriceps femoris muscle sample was obtained to detect the mitochondrial membrane potential( MMP), the activities of succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) and cy- tochrome coxidase (COX), and the protein levels of p-PI3K and p-Akt.
Abnormal expression of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to play an important role in tumor biology. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) platform is a large sample sequencing database of lncRNAs, and further analysis of the associations between these data and patients' clinical related information can provide new approaches to find the functions of lncRNA. In the present study, 361 RNA sequencing profiles of gastric cancer (GC) patients were selected from TCGA.
