Bio-based epoxy vitrimers are gaining attention as sustainable alternatives to traditional epoxies due to renewable starting materials and recyclability, enabling material circularity. Transesterification, a dynamic bond reaction mechanism in vitrimers, relies on ample hydroxy and esters groups in the polymer network to rearrange under moderate conditions. To reduce reliance on petroleum we investigated starch, a natural feedstock rich in hydroxy groups.

In heritage conservation, bronze artifacts are highly valued for their unique historical and cultural significance. However, due to the complex environmental factors and the long erosion of time, many bronze artifacts commonly face more severe rust issues, directly leading to fragility and even damage. Traditional rust removal methods often failed to effectively eliminate corrosion of fragile bronze artifacts and may cause irreversible damage, particularly for the delicate bronze artifacts with complicated surfaces.

Objective: To investigate the potential mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) in alleviating premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and to provide a theoretical basis for EA treatment of POI.

Methods: For this purpose, a POI mice model was developed by injecting 12 mg/kg busulfan and 120 mg/kg cyclophosphamide intraperitoneally to induce POI. It was then proceeded by EA intervention at Guanyuan (CV4) acupoint on the second day following modeling.

Chlorophyll is crucial for pear tree growth and fruit quality. In order to integrate the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) multispectral vegetation indices and textural features to realize the estimation of the SPAD value of pear leaves, this study used the UAV multispectral remote sensing images and ground measurements to extract the vegetation indices and textural features, and analyze their correlation with the SPAD value of leaves during the fruit expansion period of the pear tree. Finally, four machine learning methods, namely XGBoost, random forest (RF), back-propagation neural network (BPNN), and optimized integration algorithm (OIA), were used to construct inversion models of the SPAD value of pear trees, with different feature inputs based on vegetation indices, textural features, and their combinations, respectively.

In an era where technological advancement and sustainability converge, developing renewable materials with multifunctional integration is increasingly in demand. This study filled a crucial gap by integrating energy storage, multi-band electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, and structural design into bio-based materials. Specifically, conductive polymer layers were formed within the 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxide (TEMPO)-oxidized cellulose fiber skeleton, where a mild TEMPO-mediated oxidation system was applied to endow it with abundant macropores that could be utilized as active sites (specific surface area of 105.

The aviation industry plays a crucial role in global trade and cultural exchange, but it faces significant challenges due to high production cost and environmental impacts. To achieve carbon neutrality, promoting the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is essential, with projections indicating that 65% of emissions reductions in the aviation industry by 2050 will come from the use of SAF. Lignin, as an abundant renewable resource, has great potential for conversion into aviation fuel components.

Amines are commonly synthesized through the amination of organooxygenates using ammonia, frequently involving the use of noble metal catalysts. In this study, we present an alternative route to make amines using iron nitride (FeN) as the nitrogen source. Without any additional catalyst, FeN reacts with a range of alcohols at 250 °C under 1 or 10 bar H to produce amines as major products.

The application of perovskite oxide for high-temperature electrocatalysis is hindered by its limited activity. Exsolution is a smart strategy that allows the enrichment of the perovskite's surface with highly reactive phases, yielding heteroboundaries. However, the identification of the exact catalytic role of this complex architecture is still elusive.

The study investigated the cardiovascular effects of daily exposure to plastic products by simulating the oral heat exposure mode of disposable plastic takeout containers (DPTC) commonly used in society. Questionnaires were used to randomly choose 3179 people in order to examine any possible correlation between the frequency of plastic exposure and the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Additionally, Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats consumed leachate from DPTC exposed to boiling water for 1 minute,5 minutes and 15 minutes respectively, over three months.

Organometal halide perovskite (OHP) composites are flexible and easy to synthesize, making them ideal for ambient mechanical energy harvesting. Yet, the output current density from the piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs) remains orders of magnitude lower than their ceramic counterparts. In prior composites, high permittivity nanoparticles enhance the dielectric constant (ϵ) but reduce the dielectric strength (E).

  • Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) may be linked to immune tolerance issues, and this study investigates the immune regulatory function of peripheral naïve B cells in RPL patients.
  • Blood samples were analyzed, revealing that these B cells in RPL patients had lower IL10 expression and higher endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, with impaired ability to induce IL10 expression.
  • The study found that elevated CMIP levels in these B cells were affected by ER stress, and targeting the RNF20 protein could restore their immune functions.

Electrocatalytic water splitting is a promising solution for generating clean hydrogen. Transition metal compounds are among the most extensively investigated catalysts developed to date for water oxidation in alkaline media, a process also known as the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, the application of these catalysts was constrained by insufficient stability arising from surface oxidation and metal dissolution under high OER potential.
