Disrupted hippocampal functions and progressive neuronal loss represent significant challenges in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). How to achieve the improvement of pathological progression and effective neural regeneration to ameliorate the intracerebral dysfunctional environment and cognitive impairment is the goal of the current AD therapy. We examined the therapeutic potential of clinical-grade human derived dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) in cognitive function and neuropathology in AD.

Membrane attack complex/perforin (MACPF) domain proteins play vital roles in innate and adaptive immunity in vertebrates; however, their molecular functions in plants remain largely unexplored. Here, we isolated and characterized a rice mutant, Oryza sativa constitutively activated cell death 1 (oscad1), which exhibited a lesion mimic phenotype and growth inhibition with increased cell death, elevated ROS accumulation, and enhanced resistance to bacterial blight Xanthomonas oryzae pv.

Thrombocytopenia is the most common hemostatic abnormality in liver cirrhosis. However, it is still unclear about whether thrombocytopenia increases the failure of EVT in cirrhotic patients with AVB.

The husk leaf of maize (Zea mays) encases the ear as a modified leaf and plays pivotal roles in protecting the ear from pathogen infection, translocating nutrition for grains and warranting grain yield. However, the natural genetic basis for variation in husk leaf width remains largely unexplored. Here, we performed a genome-wide association study for maize husk leaf width and identified a 3-bp InDel (insertion/deletion) in the coding region of the nitrate transporter gene ZmNRT2.

This study aimed to examine the association between SUA and dyslipidaemia and to explore whether there is an optimal SUA level corresponding to the lower risk of suffering from dyslipidaemia.
Research Design And Methods: This cross-sectional study included 1036 inpatients with T2DM and the clinical data were extracted from the hospital medical records.
Background: Obesity could compromise people's health and elevate the risk of numerous severe chronic conditions and premature mortality. Young adults are at high risk of adopting unhealthy lifestyles related to overweight and obesity, as they are at a phase marked by several significant life milestones that have been linked to weight gain. They gain weight rapidly and excess adiposity mostly accrues, compared with middle-aged and older adults when weight stabilizes or even decreases.

This study aimed to investigate the associations of tea consumption, including status, frequency, and type, with cognitive function, considering selection bias.
Methods: We used data from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) in 2018(N = 8498).
Amorphous-dominated magnesium oxide hollow spheres (A-MgO) were prepared using a spray-drying method in this study. These hollow spheres exhibited excellent sphericity, large specific surface areas, and abundant porosity. A-MgO exhibited outstanding fluoride adsorption properties, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 260.

It is mainly found in cytoplasm, and it is typically expressed in the stomach and intestines. Given that its expression is low or absent in other tissues, AKR1B10 is a potential diagnostic and therapeutic biomarker for various digestive system diseases.

Tumor microvascularity is a key factor in metastasis, making the inhibition of microvascular formation crucial. Emerging photothermal therapy (PTT) and microneedles (MNs) have garnered attention due to their non-invasive and controllable nature.

The incidence rate of obesity, an important form of metabolic syndrome, is increasing worldwide. Excess appetite is a key pathogenesis of obesity, and the inflammatory response induced by obesity has received increasing attention.

The results showed that indirect carbon emissions dominated the total carbon emissions of small and medium-scale WWTPs (69.5%), and carbon emissions from electricity consumption were the largest source (43.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the clinical value of metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) of blood samples for the identification of disseminated tuberculosis (DTB).
Methods: A total of 48 individuals suspected of DTB were enrolled. All patients underwent mNGS of peripheral blood and conventional microbiological tests.
Transition metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides (MXenes) have emerged as a promising class of 2D materials that can be used for various applications. Recently, a new form of high-entropy MXenes has been reported, which contains an increased number of elemental species that can increase the configurational entropy and reduce the Gibbs free energy. The unique structure and composition lead to a range of intriguing and tunable characteristics.

Methods: Serum samples from papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) and non-cancer controls matched 1:1 in different iodine nutritional regions were analyzed metabolomically using an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-Orbitrap Exploris mass spectrometry (UHPLC-OE-MS) platform. Then the data were randomly divided into training and test sets in a 1:1 ratio according to the different iodine nutritional regions and different PTC status.

This study aimed to compare the pharmacokinetics of ginkgo flavone aglycone(GA) in plasma after oral administration of GA in normal and atherosclerosis(AS) model rats and to explore the mechanism of pharmacokinetic differences. The AS rats were prepared by using high-fat diets. Rats in the normal and AS model groups were orally given 200 mg·kg~(-1) GA, blood samples were collected at different time points, plasma was separated, and the plasma concentrations of quercetin, kaempferol and isorhamnetin in the normal and AS model groups were determined by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS).

Radiation-induced lung injury is a common complication of chest tumor radiotherapy; however, effective clinical treatments are still lacking. Stem cell-derived exosomes, which contain various signaling molecules such as proteins, lipids, and miRNAs, not only retain the tissue repair and reconstruction properties of stem cells but also offer improved stability and safety. This presents significant potential for treating radiation-induced lung injury.
