Objective: The objective of this retrospective study was to evaluate the clinical characteristics of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with acute pancreatitis (AP) in a cohort from China and to identify simple laboratory parameters to discriminate high-risk patients.
Methods: Patients diagnosed with AP and T2DM from January 2015 to December 2020 were retrospectively enrolled. They were divided into DKA group and non-DKA group.
This work describes a concise manner to make a wide variety of mono- or disubstituted 2-amino isonicotinic acids via the corresponding 2,4-dioxo-carboxylic acid ethyl esters and ethyl 3-amino-3-iminopropionate hydrochloride. The reaction likely proceeds through an decarboxylation process and is reminiscent of the Guareschi-Thorpe Condensation.

Methods: We retrospectively collected the clinical data of patients with LC treated with anlotinib and divided them into group A (treated with anlotinib after the failure of previous antiangiogenic drugs and group B (no prior use of antiangiogenic drugs). We used propensity score matching (PSM) for confounding factors between the groups.
A green and inexpensive natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) was screened and integrated with an ultrasonic technique for extracting chlorogenic acid (CGA) from artemisiae scopariae herba. Response surface methodology was employed to investigate significant factors and optimize their influence. Proline-malic acid exhibited an excellent extraction capacity with a yield of 28.

Methods: A retrospective study of ectopic pregnancy was conducted in the First Hospital of the Jilin University between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2014. The results were analyzed using simple descriptive statistics and reported as frequencies and percentages.
Aim: To assess the protective effect of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosomes (hucMSC-Exs) in a diabetic rat model by using a variety of retinal bioassays.
Methods: hucMSCs were subjected to differential ultracentrifugation for the collection of exosomes, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) using a NanoSight analysis system and Western blotting (WB) were used to analyze the expression of surface marker proteins such as CD63, CD9 and Calnexin. Streptozotocin (STZ) was injected into the intraperitoneal cavity to establish a diabetic model.
Depression is one of the most frequent comorbid psychiatric symptoms of Alzheimer's disease (AD), and no efficacious drugs have been approved specifically for this purpose thus far. Herein, we proposed a novel therapeutic strategy that merged the key pharmacophores of the antidepressant vilazodone (5-HT receptor partial agonist and serotonin transporter inhibitor) and the anti-AD drug donepezil (acetylcholinesterase inhibitor) together to develop a series of multi-target-directed ligands for potential therapy of the comorbidity of AD and depression. Accordingly, 55 vilazodone-donepezil chimeric derivatives were designed and synthesized, and their triple-target activities against acetylcholinesterase, 5-HT receptor, and serotonin transporter were systematically evaluated.

Previous studies have shown a potential relationship between urinary tubular biomarkers (UTBs) and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome in patients with DKD. Thus, we further evaluated the clinical significance of combined detection of urinary biomarkers in noninvasively predicting the extent of renal damage in patients with early DKD with kidney qi deficiency syndrome, and preliminarily explored the potential biological link between UTBs and TCM syndrome in DKD.

However, development of cost-effective and high-throughput sensors to accurate enantioselective discrimination of L-dopa and D-dopa remains challenging to date. Herein, on the basis of the peroxidase-mimic activity of chiral FeCuSe nanoparticles, we demonstrated a novel colorimetric sensor for determination of chiral dopa.

Mtb can induce macrophage pyroptosis, leading to the release of IL-1 and tissue damage, promoting its spread. Here, we established an in vitro Mtb-infected macrophage model to seek an effective antipyroptosis agent.

Patients And Methods: A total of 122 patients (training cohort: n = 86; validation cohort: n = 36) with pathologically confirmed glioblastoma were included in this retrospective study.
Dysregulated lipid metabolism represents an important metabolic alteration in cancer. Fatty acids, cholesterol, and phospholipid are the three most prevalent lipids that act as energy producers, signaling molecules, and source material for the biogenesis of cell membranes. The enhanced synthesis, storage, and uptake of lipids contribute to cancer progression.

In the early stage of production, the vertical well acid fracturing is the main reservoir stimulation method, and the horizontal well stimulation technology is not mature enough to release the production capacity of gas wells. Segmented acid fracturing of the ultradeep horizontal wells currently faces the following problems: the strong heterogeneity of reservoir leads to the difficulty of fine segmentation; the high reservoir temperature requires higher performance of working fluid; the reaction rate between acid and rock is fast and the action distance of acid is short, and there is low fracture conductivity under high closure stress.

Intracellular pathogens such as Leishmania major can hijack these cells as a niche for replication. Thus, NO might exert containment by restricting the availability of the cellular niche required for efficient pathogen proliferation.

However, it is still a huge challenge to simulate the spatial distribution of PSD due to the difficulties of data acquisition and unsatisfactory performance of predicting algorithms over large areas. A surge in the number of remote sensing imagery, along with the great success of machine learning, opens new opportunities for the mapping of PSD.

Here, we focus on horizontal dipole orientation engineering of the molecule to increase η and external quantum efficiency (η). A series of tailor-made luminescent molecules consisting of an electron-accepting carbonyl core plus double electron-donating groups of spiro[acridine-9,9′-fluorene] and carbazole derivatives [e.

We aimed to build deep learning radiomics (DLR) models of dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) to classify LNM status of PDAC and to stratify the overall survival before treatment.
Methods: From August 2016 to October 2020, 148 PDAC patients underwent regional lymph node dissection and scanned preoperatively DECT were enrolled.
As the most abundantly used phthalate derivative, di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) leads to reproductive disorders, especially in males. Testicular injury can be triggered when the testis is exposed to DEHP during the immature stage. However, the potential mechanism is largely unclear.

In China, Confucian collectivism and an exam-centered culture encourage parents to have high educational expectations that impose great pressure on their children's learning. However, limited research has focused on adolescents' perceptions of the negative consequences of academic stress stemming from their parents' educational expectations.

Improvement of longevity is an eternal dream of human beings. The accumulation of protein damages is considered as a major cause of aging. Here, we report that the injection of exogenous recombinant mouse serum albumin (rMSA) reduced the total damages of serum albumin in C57BL/6N mice, with higher level of free-thiols, lower levels of carbonyls and advanced glycation end-products as well as homocysteines in rMSA-treated mice.
