Curcumin is a natural phenolic component of yellow curry spice, exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In this study we investigated whether curcumin suppresses heat-induced apoptosis in chicken embryonic fibroblast cells (CEF) and the underlying mechanism. CEF cells line was divided into 6 groups (4 repetitions per group) including normal temperature group (NC), high temperature control group (H) and 4 experimental groups (H1(5 μmol/L), H2(10 μmol/L), H3(20 μmol/L) and H4(40 μmol/L)).

Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. All the new compounds were tested against five cell lines (HL-60, SMMC-7721, A-549, MCF-7, SW480).

Therefore, the aim of this study was to characterize HRS inhuman hepatocellular HepG2 cells and to explore the molecular mechanism(s) mediating this response.
Materials And Methods: HepG2 cells were exposed to various single doses of γ radiation (from 0 Gy to 4 Gy), and then were assayed at subsequent time-points.

The clinical effect of laparoscopic rectal cancer curative excision with pelvic autonomic nerve preservation (PANP) was investigated. This study evaluated the frequency of urinary and sexual dysfunction of 149 male patients with middle and low rectal cancer who underwent laparoscopic or open total mesorectal excision with pelvic autonomic nerve preservation (PANP) from March 2011 to March 2013. Eighty-four patients were subjected to laparoscopic surgery, and 65 to open surgery respectively.

Numerous miRNAs have been deregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Here, we investigated the role of miR-141 in HCC.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of laparoscopic transanal coloanal anastomosis (modified Parks procedure) in sphincter-preserving surgery for low rectal carcinoma.
Methods: Clinical data of 65 low rectal cancer patients undergoing laparoscopic modified Parks procedure from March 2009 to April 2012 in our department were reviewed retrospectively. Fecal continence, urination and sexual function were evaluated.

Objective: To establish the genetic background of exon2, exon13, exon11 and exon15 polymorphisms of RET proto-oncogene and study the possible involvement of RET proto-oncogene in the etiology of Hirschsprung disease (HD) in Chinese Han population surrounding Province HuBei.
Methods: The genotype and allele frequencies of RET proto-oncogene polymorphisms were identified by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms (PCR-RFLPS) in 94 HD patients and 122 control subjects.
Results: The genotype and allele frequencies of exon2 were AA 0.
