Fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), a hormone, mainly produced by osteocytes, regulates phosphate and vitamin D metabolism. By contrast, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D, the active form of vitamin D, has been shown to enhance FGF23 production. While it is likely that osteocytes are heterogenous in terms of gene expression profiles, specific subpopulations of -expressing osteocytes have not been identified.

A 21-year-old woman with bloody stool was referred to our hospital with multiple submucosal tumors at the posterior and anterior wall of the gastric angle under upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Both of the tumors were diagnosed with gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST)by EUS-FNA, then laparoscopic distal gastrectomy with D1 lymph node dissection was performed. The size of those tumors were 47 mm and 15 mm respectively, and pathological examination revealed multiple lymph nodes metastases.

Introduction: Occlusal overload is considered to be one of the causes of late implant failure. However, it is unclear whether the magnitude of the patient's occlusal force is a risk factor for late implant failure.
Purpose: This case-control study aimed to clarify the association between the cross-sectional area (CSA) of the masseter muscle and late implant failure.
A 46-year-old woman was referred for hypertension and a right adrenal tumor. Primary aldosteronism (PA) was suspected because of the high plasma aldosterone concentration-to-plasma renin activity ratio. However, a subsequent evaluation revealed coexistent PA and pheochromocytoma.

While isoflavones are known to function as symbiotic signals with rhizobia and to modulate the soybean rhizosphere microbiome, the underlying mechanisms of root-to-soil delivery are poorly understood. In addition to transporter-mediated secretion, the hydrolysis of isoflavone glycosides in the apoplast by an isoflavone conjugate-hydrolyzing β-glucosidase (ICHG) has been proposed but not yet verified.

Methods: We examined PWE (n = 332, age ≥ 14 years) treated in four tertiary hospitals between 2021 and 2022 to assess the incidence of seizure worsening following vaccination using closed questions. We identified the clinical factors associated with worsening and 6-month vaccination outcomes.
Due to its rarity, biochemical and histologic characteristics of androgen and glucocorticoid co-secreting adrenocortical adenomas are largely unknown. Herein, we report a case of adrenocortical adenoma that caused marked hyperandrogenemia and mild autonomous cortisol secretion. In this study, we investigated serum steroid profiles using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and histologic characteristics of the resected tumor.

Pregnancy may lead to exacerbation of DM, especially of DM with anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene (MDA) 5 antibody positivity, leading to a poor obstetric outcome. Here, we report consecutive pregnancies complicated by DM with anti-MDA-5 antibodies.

However, performing this process under mild energy-efficient conditions is challenging. Herein, we report a robust tungsten- and zirconium-oxide-supported platinum catalyst (Pt/WO-ZrO) for the hydrogenolysis of esters to alkanes at low temperatures (as low as 70 °C) and under ambient pressure (1 atm) of H.

One of the essential models in soccer game analysis is a motion model that predicts the arrival point of a player in t s. Although many space evaluation and pass prediction methods rely on motion models, the validity of each has not been fully clarified.

Pantropical plants with sea-drifted seeds, which have one of the largest distributions in all flowering plants, have achieved their global distribution by LDD. However, the spatiotemporal processes to achieve the wide distribution and the role of LDD in it have not yet been elucidated.

Several randomized trials and observational studies in patients with COVID-19 have been performed. However, the standard treatment strategy has not yet been established.

Racemic 3-hydroxy-4-phenylbutanoic acid (-), 3-hydroxy-4-(4-chlorophenyl)butanoic acid (-), and 3-hydroxy-5-phenylpentanoic acid (-) were efficiently resolved using these resolving agents. Moreover, the successive crystallization of the less-soluble diastereomeric salt of and cinchonidine using EtOH yielded pure ()- · cinchonidine salt in a high yield.

The main protein components of these hallmarks include Aβ40, Aβ42, tau, phosphor-tau, and APOE. We hypothesize that genetic variants influence the levels and solubility of these AD-related proteins in the brain; identifying these may provide key insights into disease pathogenesis.

Methods: We conducted a single-center retrospective study using the facility's database.
Common marmosets have been widely used in biomedical research for years. Nutritional control is an important factor in managing their health, and insect intake would be beneficial for that purpose because common marmosets frequently feed on insects in natural habitats. Here, we examined the effect of enhanced insect feeding on the gut by analysing the faecal microbiota and transcripts of captive marmosets.

The synthesis of ammonia from atmospheric dinitrogen, nitrogen fixation, is one of the essential reactions for human beings. Because the current industrial nitrogen fixation depends on dihydrogen produced from fossil fuels as raw material, the development of a nitrogen fixation reaction that relies on the energy provided by renewable energy, such as visible light, is an important research goal from the viewpoint of sustainable chemistry. Herein, we establish an iridium- and molybdenum-catalysed process for synthesizing ammonia from dinitrogen under ambient reaction conditions and visible light irradiation.

Assays using induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived human neurons are emerging as powerful tools for drug discovery in neurological disease. We have previously shown that longitudinal single cell tracking enabled the quantification of survival and death of neurons after overexpression of α-synuclein with a familial Parkinson's disease mutation (A53T).

However, it is not currently possible to diagnose the disease using anti-MAC antibodies alone.
Objectives: The study aim was to assess the efficacy of the combination of anti-MAC antibodies and clinical findings for diagnosing potential NTM-PD.
Introduction: Accumulating evidence indicating that inflammatory responses play crucial roles in Parkinson's disease (PD) development provided a hypothesis that physiological alpha-synuclein may contribute to inflammatory responses against infections during non-advanced stages of PD. Thus, we examined the risk of catching a common cold in patients with PD as compared to other common brain diseases.
Methods: We extracted PD (non-advanced; without dementia) and control (AD: Alzheimer's disease, migraine, epilepsy, and ischemic stroke) patient data from insurance claim data available between 2010 and 2021.
