Introduction: Adrenal myelolipomas are uncommon benign adrenal tumors, which mostly occur unilaterally. We describe a rare case of giant bilateral adrenal myelolipoma mistaken for retroperitoneal liposarcoma.
Case Presentation: A 49-year-old man developed fever, left flank pain, and a large mass in his left abdomen.
Background: Food-derived nucleic acids exhibit various biological activities and may act as nutrients. Oral ingestion of the nucleic acid fraction (NAF) of salmon milt extract hydrolysates enhances cognitive function in mice although their active ingredients have not yet been identified, and detailed mechanisms of action are unknown.
Objective: To identify active ingredients enhancing cognitive function contained in the NAF and its possible underlying mechanism.
To clarify the cause of graded distribution of sucrose in apple fruit flesh, a quarter cut of young apple fruit was cultured for 72 h on agar-solidified MS medium supplemented with 0.5 M [1-C]sorbitol, with the longitudinal or horizontal cut face being attached with the medium, and distribution of C-labelled sucrose in a specimen obtained by slicing the fruit along with the cut face was visualized utilizing MALDI-TOF MSI. Heat map images on the distribution of the peaks of sorbitol containing C-atom indicated that external [1-C]sorbitol had penetrated evenly into the tissue.

Central nervous system (CNS) demyelination with inflammation occurs infrequently in patients with CIDP. Here, we present a unique autopsy report of CIDP causing severe demyelination along the entire spinal cord.

However, the optimal administration timepoints and drug combinations remain unclear because the mechanisms underlying RT-induced changes in immune checkpoint molecule expression and interaction with their ligand(s) remain unclear. Herein, we demonstrated the dynamics of lymphocyte-mediated molecular interactions in tissue samples from esophageal cancer patients throughout RT schedules.

Our aim was to evaluate a multimodal artificial intelligence (MMAI) biomarker for prognostic ability in mHSPC.
Methods: We used data from the phase 3 CHAARTED trial; 456/790 patients with mHSPC had evaluable digital histopathology images and requisite clinical variables to generate MMAI scores for inclusion in our analysis.
Objectives: This study determined whether alkaline phosphatase can be used to distinguish giant cell arthritis complications in patients with polymyalgia rheumatica.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica between January 2014 and October 2023 at our hospital. The predictive accuracy of biomarkers for diagnosing giant cell arthritis was evaluated.
This retrospective study aimed to investigate the impact of orthognathic surgery with maxillary advancement (MA) on the velopharyngeal function (VF) in individuals with cleft lip and palate (CLP). The study included 651 patients with repaired CLP, both sexes, aged over 18 years who underwent MA alone or in combination with nasal procedures and/or mandibular osteotomy, operated between 2000 and 2019. The main outcome measures were nasalance (nasal text-NT and oral text-OT) and velopharyngeal orifice area measurement (VA), determined by nasometry and pressure-flow technique, respectively.

Methods: We gathered 8 home-visit nurses who have completed the training in Japan. First-author conducted in-depth, semi-structured individual interviews, asking for their insights on home care pressure ulcer management.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the hemodynamic activity in the left cerebral hemisphere during silent reading in college students with typical development using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). Sixty college students with typical development participated in this study. In the silent reading task, participants were asked to read a text from Andersen's fairy tale.

Methods: There were a total of 125 participants (57 TD, 68 HF-PDD), aged 6-24. Stimuli were displayed on computer screens, and participants verbally responded with response times recorded via voice key function.
Objective: To investigate the effect of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) in reducing barriers to the implementation of exercise therapy and promoting exercise therapy, focusing on physical activity (PA).
Design: A single-center, participant-blinded, randomized controlled trial with a pre-post design.
Setting: Orthopedic clinic at a single institution,.
While microplastics (MPs) have emerged as a significant threat, information on MPs <330 μm (SMPs) is limited by the lack of simple quantification methods. We examined the potential application of salps, non-selective filter-feeding tunicates, to estimate in-situ SMP densities. After collection, salp guts were dissected, dissolved, and filtered to analyze MPs using μFTIR.

In this study, we tried a small implantable actimeter, "Nanotag", to monitor spontaneous locomotor activity and body temperature in animals suffering from a chemical-induced rat knee arthritis as compared to naïve and steroid-treated rats. Nanotag could detect the decrease in locomotor activity quickly after the arthritis induction and anti-inflammation analgesic treatment by intra-articular injection of steroid significantly improved locomotor activity.

Magnetic resonance imaging showed multiple small cerebral infarctions in the right corona radiata. Angiography revealed persistent primitive trigeminal artery (PPTA) originating from the right internal carotid artery (ICA) and connecting to basilar artery, and the right ICA occluded distal to PPTA.

The association between the occurrence of EV-related side effects and clinical outcome remains to be elucidated.
Methods: We identified 97 mUC patients treated with EV therapy at our five institutions from the date of approval to March 2023.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the speech and language outcomes of children with cleft palate with or without cleft lip (CP+/-L) in the USA to children with CP+/-L in Brazil who underwent intervention with enhanced Milieu teaching with phonological emphasis (EMT + PE), as there are few cross-country intervention comparisons for children with CP+/-L.
Method: This is a retrospective analysis of 29 participants from the USA and 24 participants from Brazil who were matched on age. The US participants were between the ages of 13-35 months ( = 23.
Central hypothyroidism and dyslipidemia are well-known adverse events (AEs) of bexarotene therapy. Although hypothyroidism is known to cause dyslipidemia, no study has examined the association between hypothyroidism and dyslipidemia in patients undergoing bexarotene therapy. The aim of this study is to examine this association.

Patients And Methods: We performed RC on 385 patients between September 2002 and February 2020. After excluding 20 patients-13 with simultaneous nephroureterectomy, 6 with distal ureteral stump positivity and 1 with urachal cancer-365 patients were included in the analysis.
Preparation of drug metabolites at the milligram scale is essential for determining the structure and toxicity of drug metabolites. However, their preparation using recombinant proteins and human liver microsomes (HLM) is often difficult because of technical and ethical issues. Reproducing human drug metabolism in food-derived microorganisms may be useful for overcoming these challenges.

Methods: Between September 2002 and February 2020, 288 bladder cancer patients who did not receive NAC underwent radical cystectomy. We retrospectively analyzed the recurrence rates, primary recurrence sites, recurrence-free survival (RFS), and overall survival (OS) of 115 advanced bladder cancer patients (pT3-4 or pN1-3) who were divided into the AC and observation groups.
