Purpose: The objective of this study was to compare the temperature dependence of a scintillation survey meter with and without the temperature compensation function. Investigation of temperature dependence is important to make precise measurements in various environments.

Method: The experiment was conducted using the NaI (Tl) scintillation survey meter with the temperature compensation function (TCS-1172) and the NaI (Tl) and CsI (Tl) scintillation survey meters without the temperature compensation function (TCS-171, PDR-111).

A prediction model for estimating NT-proBNP in a general Japanese population: the Toon Health Study.

Aims: As part of the Toon Health Study, which is an ongoing population-based cohort study, we aimed to develop a prediction model for N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in a general Japanese population. We sought to explore the influence of various demographic and clinical factors on NT-proBNP levels and assess the model's performance. In addition, our objectives included internal validation and investigation of the diagnostic potential of the observed-to-predicted NT-proBNP ratio (OPR) at baseline for predicting the risk of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

[An Experience of Multidisciplinary Treatment for Advanced Esophageal Cancer with Tumor Perforation during Preoperative Chemotherapy].

Perforation of esophageal cancer is one of the fatal oncologic emergencies, and a prompt and accurate treatment strategy is required. Here, we report a case of advanced esophageal cancer that had perforated during preoperative chemotherapy and was successfully resected with multidisciplinary treatment. The prognosis of perforated esophageal cancer can be expected to improve by multidisciplinary treatment appropriately combining initial treatment for infection control and subsequent cancer treatment.

[Long-Term Survival of a Patient with Advanced Antral Gastric Cancer Successfully Treated with Multidisciplinary Therapy].

We report the case of long-term survival of a patient with advanced antral gastric cancer with multiple paraaortic lymph nodes metastasis who was successfully treated with multidisciplinary therapy. A 70-year-old female was admitted to our hospital complaining of vomiting. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a Type 3 tumor in the gastric antrum.

[A Case of Right Hemicolectomy for Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor Arising in the Right Transverse Colon].

The patient was a 21-year-old male. He presented with right lower abdominal pain and showed tenderness in the same area. An abdominal contrast-enhanced CT examination revealed a 45 mm tumor that continuously stained in the right transverse colon.

[A Case of Surgery for Skin Metastasis of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma in a Very Elderly Patient to Improve the Quality of Life].

The patient was a 100-year-old woman who underwent right lobe thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid cancer in another hospital around 1990. She developed local recurrence in 2010 and underwent anterior tracheal local recurrence resection in May 2017. Subsequently, metastases were confirmed in the lateral cervical lymph nodes, but the patient only received TSH suppression because of her advanced age.

This exploratory analysis evaluated outcomes in patients enrolled in East Asia at the time of prespecified final analysis.

Methods: Women ≥18 years with histologically confirmed advanced, recurrent, or metastatic EC with progressive disease after 1 platinum-based chemotherapy (2 if 1 given in neoadjuvant/adjuvant setting) were enrolled.

These assays were designed to compare the response to genotoxic chemicals with a pre-established multicopy plasmid-based assay.

We investigate the polarization of disk electrodes immersed in an electrolyte solution and subjected to a small external AC voltage over a wide range of frequencies. A mathematical model is developed based on the Debye-Falkenhagen approximation to the coupled Poisson-Nernst-Planck equations. Analytical techniques are used for predicting the spatial distribution of the electric potential and the complex impedance of the system.

Background And Aims: High bleeding risk (HBR) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS) subtypes are critical in determining bleeding and cardiovascular event risk after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Methods And Results: In 4476 ACS patients enrolled in the STOPDAPT-3, where the no-aspirin and dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) strategies after PCI were randomly compared, the pre-specified subgroup analyses were conducted based on HBR/non-HBR and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)/non-ST-segment elevation ACS (NSTE-ACS). The co-primary bleeding endpoint was Bleeding Academic Research Consortium (BARC) type 3 or 5, and the co-primary cardiovascular endpoint was a composite of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, definite stent thrombosis, or ischaemic stroke at 1 month.
