This research paper describes the fabrication of bionanocomposites (BNCs) based on silk fibroin (SF) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO). The recorded UV-visible (UV-vis) spectra of the sample confirm the reduction of GO to rGO in SF by showing a plasmon resonance band within the wavelength range of 261-268 nm. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) peak at 11.

This systematic review aims to assess the placebo arms of RCTs to extrapolate data on the natural history of distal ureteral stones and ascertain the success rate of expectant management.
Methods: A literature search was performed, and 3 reviewers used a predefined inclusion criterion to independently select articles for inclusion.
Introduction: Nephrometric scores are used to predict perioperative and postoperative complications, with no uniform results in the current literature.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective study of 141 patients in a single center who underwent open partial nephrectomy between June 2006 and 2016 for T1a and T1b renal tumor was conducted. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to evaluate the correlations between preoperative aspects and dimensions used for an anatomical (PADUA) and radius exophytic/endophytic nearness anterior/posterior location (RENAL) scores and their components with pre-, peri-, and post-operative parameters.
Percutaneous procedure represents a novel, easy, and safe removal of retained appendicolith. This gives an advantage of less invasive treatment, shorter hospital stay, and enhanced recovery of the patients.

Patients And Methods: In this retrospective case series, we identified all renal units with non-contrast computed tomography diagnosed asymptomatic calyceal stones in a single reference centre between August 2005 and August 2016. Primary endpoints were spontaneous stone passage and need for stone-related surgical intervention.
We demonstrate a bio-inspired one-pot synthesis of carbon nanospheres with micro-porosity achieved from a promising carbon-rich source (Areca nut) using direct pyrolysis in nitrogen atmosphere at 550 °C in a tube-furnace without adding any catalysts. The resultant carbon spheres are highly monodispersed, uniformly shaped and possess good absorption behaviour (10.5 mg · g−1) for methylene blue (MB).

Current European Association of Urology recommends conservative management for "small" (<6 mm) ureteral stones if active removal is not indicated. It is important to understand the natural history of ureteral stone disease to help counsel patients with regard to their likelihood of stone passage and anticipated time frame with which they could be safely observed.

Materials And Methods: Between Jan 2010 and June 2015, 37 patients from our cohort of 341 patients with post prostatectomy incontinence were evaluated. Patient data were retrospectively collected.
Luminescence technology has been improved with the help of semiconductor nanoparticles that possess novel optical and electrical properties compared with their bulk counterpart. The aim of this study was to design semiconductor nanocrystals in their pure (ZnS) or doped form (ZnS:Mn) with different concentrations of Mn ions by a wet chemical route stabilized by ethylenediamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA) and to evaluate their luminescence properties. The nanocrystals were characterized by physicochemical techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), selected area electron diffraction (SEAD), EDS, and ultraviolet (UV)-visible light and photoluminescence (PL) studies.

Background: Xanthelasma palpebrarum (XP) is a metabolic disorder involving the eyelids. Radiofrequency(RF) surgery and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) applications have been listed among the procedures for XP, but comparative studies are not available.
Aim: To compare the efficacy of radiofrequency surgery versus trichloroacetic acid application in the treatment of XP.
Herein, we described for the first time, biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using pre-hydrolyzed liquor of Eucalyptus wood under ambient conditions. The pre-hydrolyzed liquor containing a high amount of metabolites such as polyphenols, hemicelluloses and its derivatives are mainly assisted for the reduction and stabilization process of Ag+ ions to AgNPs. The formation of AgNPs is monitored by recording the UV-vis spectrophotometer for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak observed at ∼415nm.

UV-vis spectrophotometer, XRD, FT-IR, FESEM/TEM, TGA and EDAX analysis were used to characterize the obtained NPs.

Nanoparticle synthesis was performed using endosymbiont Pseudomonas fluorescens CA 417 inhabiting Coffea arabica L. Synthesized nanoparticles were characterized using hyphenated spectroscopic techniques such as UV-vis spectroscopy which revealed maximum absorption 425nm.

Citral is a widely used monoterpene aldehyde in aromatherapy, food and pesticide industries. A new validated reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP - HPLC) procedure for the detection and quantification of cis-trans isomers of citral was developed. The RP-HPLC analysis was carried out using Enable C - 18G column (250×4.

In this study, Cu(NO) and AgNO precursors were reduced to copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using bark extracts under microwave irradiation in the presence of well-dispersed multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in aqueous medium. The formation of CuNPs or AgNPs and their functionalization with MWCNTs via bioactive molecules of plant extract were evidenced from UV-Vis spectra, XRD, FTIR, FESEM, EDX, and TEM images.

A green chemistry approach for the synthesis of Au, Ag and Au-Ag alloy nanoparticles (NPs) using the corresponding metal precursors and Jasminum sambac leaves extract as both reducing and capping media, under microwave irradiation, is reported. During the formation, as expected, the reaction mixture shows marginal decrease in pH and an increase in solution potential. The formation of NPs is evident from their surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak observed at ∼555 nm for Au, ∼435 nm for Ag and ∼510 nm for Au-Ag alloy.
