Neuroblastoma (NB) is the most common extracranial solid tumor in children. Despite treatment advances, the survival rates of high-risk NB patients remain low. This highlights the urgent need for a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms driving NB progression to support the development of new therapeutic strategies.

Background: Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is an autoantibody-triggered central nervous system (CNS) demyelinating disease that primarily affects the spinal cord, optic nerves and brainstem. Among the first responders to CNS injury, microglia are prominent players that drive NMOSD lesion formation. However, the key molecular switches controlling the detrimental activity of microglia in NMOSD are poorly understood.

Purpose: Clinical specialists are supposed to inform childhood cancer patients of infertility risk and conduct fertility preservation (FP). However, little is known about whether doctors in China are fully prepared. This study aimed to investigate behavior, attitude, perception, and knowledge regarding FP among pediatric oncological specialists in a nation wide survey, to set the stage for improvements in current clinical practice patterns.

Sera from 11 healthy controls (HCs), 21 GBS and 19 CIDP patients were subjected to Olink Proteomics Analysis. In the comparison between CIDP and GBS groups, up-regulation of ITM2A and down-regulation of NTF4 were observed.

Herein, we report an efficient plasma-driven catalytic system for mild production of pure syngas over porous metal-organic framework (MOF) catalysts with rich confined HO molecules, where their syngas production capacity is regulated by the in situ evolved ligand defects and the plasma-activated intermediate species of CO molecules. Specially, the Cu-based catalyst system achieves 61.

Objectives: To summarize the clinical characteristics, treatment outcomes, and prognostic factors of children with non-metastatic Ewing's sarcoma (ES).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 41 children with non-metastatic ES diagnosed and treated at the Shanghai Children's Medical Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January 2010 to December 2018. All patients underwent chemotherapy based on the RMS-2009 protocol of the center, and local treatment such as surgery and/or radiotherapy was performed according to risk grouping.
Background: Ultrasound (US) has a high sensitivity in detecting monosodium urate (MSU) deposition in gout patients. However, the value of US in predicting gout flares has been reported only in a few monocentric studies.
Objective: To investigate the association between gout flares in the previous year and US-detected MSU burden using two different US scores.
Background: Obesity is associated with elevated serum uric acid (SUA) levels and frequent gout flares. Losing weight can reduce the SUA level and gout flares. The effect of orlistat on SUA levels and gout flares in patients with overweight/obesity and hyperuricemia (HUA) has not been extensively studied.

However, its clinical response rate is still less than 50%, and most patients eventually develop resistance, even when using combination therapy with chemotherapy. The major cause of resistance is the activation of complex bypass signals that induce angiogenesis and tumor progression.

Purpose: To investigate the impact of body mass index (BMI) on the aggressiveness of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC).
Methods: A total of 1720 PTC patients with total thyroidectomy or lobectomy, from January 2017 to April 2020, were retrospectively evaluated. Based on BMI, they were divided into two groups, as follows: control (CON, < 24 kg/m) and overweight and obesity (OB, ≥ 24 kg/m), each sex being analyzed separately.
Background: Benzene and its metabolite hydroquinone (HQ) are widely used in daily life, and long-term exposure to benzene or HQ can induce acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are mostly produced by reverse splicing of gene exon mRNA precursors. The modulation of circRNA expression is connected to leukemia progression; however, the molecular mechanism is still unknown.

Methods: The clinical data of children with extracranial GCTs in three children's medical centers in Shanghai were retrospectively analyzed.
Results: In total, 1007 cases of extracranial GCTs diagnosed between 2010 and 2019 were included in this study, including teratomas (TERs) 706 (70.
The accumulation of exogenous silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) will terminally bring about liver injury, including cell death, where DNA methylation tends to be a crucial epigenetic modulator. The change in the cell autophagy level verified to be closely associated with hepatocyte death has been followed with wide interest. But the molecular toxicological mechanisms of AgNPs in relation to DNA methylation, autophagy, and cell death remain inconclusive.

Due to its high price, whether dinutuximab β is cost-effective for the treatment of high-risk NB remains uncertain. Therefore, assessing the cost-effectiveness of dinutuximab β in children with high-risk NB is of high importance.

While it has been indicated to be downregulated in thyroid cancer, its function and the underlying mechanism remain unclear. Herein, we observed low expression and aberrant cytoplasmic localization of HHEX in thyroid cancer cell lines.

Studies have shown that lncRNA plays an important role in the occurrence of hematologic tumors induced by benzene or HQ. However, the molecular mechanism remains to be elucidated.

However, existing continuum robots have limitations of low stiffness and complex motion modes, and the existing variable stiffness methods cannot achieve a wide range of stiffness changes and fast switching stiffness simultaneously. A continuum robot structure, switching stiffness method, and motion principle are proposed in this article.

However, the clinical response rate is still low at less than 10% due largely to complex angiogenic factors released by tumor cells. Exploring novel mechanisms of tumor angiogenesis and identifying alternative targets for combination therapies are therefore essential to effective inhibition of tumor vascularization and CRC development.

Herein, from the viewpoint of enhancing the separation efficiency of photoinduced electron-hole pairs and the adsorption ability of CO molecule, we have constructed a series of Z-scheme defective heterojunctions of BiOBr nanosheets and hollow NH -functionalized metal-organic framework (MOF) MIL-125 with Ti ions as metal centers (noted as NH -MIL-125(Ti)). Systematic characterization demonstrates that the BiOBr nanosheets are anchored on the surface of hollow NH -MIL-125(Ti), which facilitates the efficient visible-light-driven catalytic reduction of CO to CO with nearly 100% selectivity by pure H O.
