Waste management is the protection of the environment and the health of the population. Paper waste sludge is produced during paper production and sepiolite is a natural clay mineral. The aim of the study was to investigate the usability of sepiolite-added paper waste sludge as a bedding material in the broiler production.

Multiharmonic Correlations of Different Flow Amplitudes in Pb-Pb Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=2.76 TeV.

The event-by-event correlations between three flow amplitudes are measured for the first time in Pb-Pb collisions, using higher-order symmetric cumulants. We find that different three-harmonic correlations develop during the collective evolution of the medium when compared to correlations that exist in the initial state. These new results cannot be interpreted in terms of previous lower-order flow measurements since contributions from two-harmonic correlations are explicitly removed in the new observables.

THSD7A expression: a novel immunohistochemical determinant in predicting overall survival of metastatic renal cell carcinoma treated with targeted therapy.

Background: The association of thrombospondin type 1 domain-containing 7A (THSD7A) expression, a novel angiogenesis-related marker, with survival outcomes of tumors including renal cell carcinoma (RCC) remains to be clarified. Therefore, we investigated the impact of THSD7A on outcomes of metastatic RCC (mRCC) patients treated with targeted therapy.

Methods: A total of 86 mRCC patients were included.

Extracellular electron transfer by Geobacter species through surface appendages known as microbial nanowires is important in a range of globally important environmental phenomena, as well as for applications in bio-remediation, bioenergy, biofuels and bioelectronics. Since 2005, these nanowires have been thought to be type 4 pili composed solely of the PilA-N protein. However, previous structural analyses have demonstrated that, during extracellular electron transfer, cells do not produce pili but rather nanowires made up of the cytochromes OmcS and OmcZ.

Osteopontin Levels in Human Milk Are Related to Maternal Nutrition and Infant Health and Growth.

Osteopontin (OPN) is a glycosylated phosphoprotein found in human tissues and body fluids. OPN in breast milk is thought to play a major role in growth and immune system development in early infancy. Here, we investigated maternal factors that may affect concentrations of OPN in breast milk, and the possible associated consequences for the health of neonates.

Lung perfusion changes in COVID-19 pneumonia: a dual energy computerized tomography study.

Objective: There is limited and contradictory information about pulmonary perfusion changes detected with dual energy computed tomography (DECT) in COVID-19 cases. The purpose of this study was to define lung perfusion changes in COVID-19 cases with DECT, as well as to reveal any possible links between perfusion changes and laboratory findings.

Methods: Patients who had a positive RT-PCR for SARS-CoV-2 and a contrast-enhanced chest DECT examination were included in the study.

Lower prognostic nutritional index is associated with poorer survival in patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors.

Blood-based biomarkers like prognostic nutritional index (PNI) are readily available biomarkers for immunotherapy efficacy, although the data are limited. So, we aimed to evaluate the association between PNI and overall survival (OS) in immunotherapy-treated patients. For this retrospective cohort study, data of 150 immunotherapy-treated advanced cancer patients were evaluated.

Environmental risk perception of mothers and presence of risk factors in rural and urban areas in Adana, Turkey.

This cross-sectional study with an open-ended manner aimed (1) to evaluate the environmental risk perception levels of mothers having at least one child and living in Adana and (2) to determine their awareness of the risk factors in their environment. Of mothers, 30.2% did not know the concept of environmental risk factor.

Clinical and Radiographic Outcomes of Total Shoulder Arthroplasty With a Nonspherical Humeral Head and Inlay Glenoid in Elite Weight Lifters: A Prospective Case Series.

Background: Weight lifting after total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) can place significant stresses on implants that could lead to instability, loosening, and increased wear. A TSA system with nonspherical humeral head resurfacing and inlay glenoid-which improves the biomechanics and thus reduces instability, wear, and potential loosening-may be able to tolerate repetitive loads from weight lifting.

Purpose: To determine clinical and radiographic outcomes after TSA in weight lifters.

Soft-Dielectron Excess in Proton-Proton Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV.

A measurement of dielectron production in proton-proton (pp) collisions at sqrt[s]=13  TeV, recorded with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC, is presented in this Letter. The data set was recorded with a reduced magnetic solenoid field. This enables the investigation of a kinematic domain at low dielectron (ee) invariant mass m_{ee} and pair transverse momentum p_{T,ee} that was previously inaccessible at the LHC.

Strengths and difficulties in children with specific learning disabilities.

Background: The study aims to investigate the social, emotional, and behavioral challenges in children with a specific learning disability (SLD) and to identify the factors that accompany these problems by screening with the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ).

Methods: The descriptive study was conducted on 278 children with SLD. Strengths and difficulties in children were evaluated by the SDQ applied to their mothers.

The 2D cell culture lacks a natural tissue-like structural so, using 3D cell culture has an important role in the development of effective drug testing models.

Recent Advances in Systemic Treatments for HER-2 Positive Advanced Gastric Cancer.

Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most common cancer worldwide. Despite recent improvements in treatment quality and options, advanced gastric cancer remains one of the hardest to cure cancers, with a median overall survival (OS) of 10-12 months and a 5-year OS of approximately 5-20%. There is an unmet need for further efforts to palliate disease-related symptoms, improve quality of life, increase tumor response rate, and prolong progression free and overall survival while balancing the toxicities of therapy.

Effects of oregano juice on eggshell microbial load, layer embryo development, hatching results, and growth at the first 2 weeks after hatch.

One of the factors affecting the hatching results and chick quality is the implementation of an appropriate disinfection program with effective disinfectants. This study was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of oregano juice as a disinfection of hatching layer eggs as an alternative to formaldehyde. In the study, 1800 eggs collected from 48-week old Akbay white layer breeders were used.

Evaluation of the signs and symptoms of pseudotumor cerebri syndrome in pediatric population.

Purpose: Pseudotumor cerebri syndrome (PTC) is characterized by increased intracranial pressure without a space-occupying lesion and a normal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) composition without evidence of CSF infection. In this study, we aimed to compare the symptoms, signs, and clinical characteristics of patients presenting with a preliminary diagnosis of pseudotumor cerebri syndrome (PTC) who were diagnosed and not diagnosed with PTC.

Method: We conducted a retrospective study of patients who were referred to our clinic with signs and symptoms of PTC.

Does docetaxel matter in metastatic gastric cancer? FOLFOX versus FLOT regimens as first-line treatment.

We aimed to compare the efficacy and the safety of the FOLFOX and the FLOT regimens in metastatic gastric cancer (mGC) as first-line treatment. It was a retrospective multicenter observational study. The comparisons between groups were conducted in terms of progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), objective response rate (ORR) and hematologic adverse events.

Video game playing among preschoolers: prevalence and home environment in three provinces from Turkey.

We aimed to investigate the video game habits and their relationship with home environment in children 2-5 years in Turkey. A structured questionnaire about the child's demographic, screen, and video gaming characteristics was completed by parents in five health centers from three provinces. One-quarter of 1245 preschoolers were found to play video games.

Delta Neutrophil Index as a Promising Biomarker for Placental Implantation Disorders.

Objective: We aimed to investigate the value of maternal serum delta neutrophil index (DNI) levels in predicting placenta accreta spectrum in patients with placenta previa.

Methods: The patients who were found to have placenta previa totalis were included in our study. Location of placental implantation and depth of myometrial invasion were defined by transabdominal and transvaginal 2D gray scale and Doppler sonography and confirmed during cesarean section and histopathological evaluation.

BTA-MM: Burst traffic awareness-based adaptive mobility model with mobile sinks for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks.

Using mobile sink increases the coverage time and energy expenditure when there is a burst traffic condition in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Hence, it is essential to handle burst traffic using mobile sinks in an energy-efficient mobility manner. In most studies, mechanisms of the clustering and routing have not taken into account burst traffic.
