Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Kinesio Tape (KT) as an additional treatment for patients with acute ankle sprains in an Emergency Department.
  • It involved a controlled trial where one group received KT along with conventional treatment, while the control group received only conventional care, assessing pain levels, analgesic use, and patient satisfaction.
  • Results showed that although pain levels were similar early on, the KT group needed fewer pain medications and reported higher satisfaction, suggesting KT may be beneficial, but further research is necessary to solidify its role in treatment protocols.
