Objective: To assess the effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation combined with lumbar stabilization exercises on lumbar multifidus muscle thickness, disability, pain, depression, anxiety, and fear-avoidance beliefs in patients with chronic low back pain; and to examine the correlation between ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging of the lumbar multifidus.
Design: Forty patients aged 18-65 years were randomized into two groups: Group 1: exercise and Group 2: exercise + neuromuscular electrical stimulation. The participants underwent 15-session electrical stimulation and/or exercise (3 days/week).
Objective: This study aimed to assess the effects of kinesiotaping (KT) adjunct to physical therapy (PT) on proprioception, cervical range of motion (ROM), pain, disability, anxiety, depression, and quality of life (QoL) in cervical spondylosis.
Methods: Sixty-nine patients aged 50-70 years were randomized into three groups: PT, PT plus KT(PT+KT), PT plus sham-taping(PT+ST). All participants underwent standardized 15-session PT, 5 days/week.
Objective: Endometrial polyp (EP) is a type of pathology that is quite common in clinical practice. Although its exact etiology is not fully known, there is evidence to support that it is sensitive to hormonal stimuli. We aimed to investigate the relationship between kisspeptin (KP) and EP by comparing the genetic (tissue-blood) and immunohistochemical (IHC) expression of KP in EP lesions in patients with normal endometrial findings.

The target of rapamycin (TOR) protein, renowned for its highly conserved nature across species, plays a pivotal role in modulating signaling pathways via its multiprotein complexes, TORC1 and TORC2. The relationship between TOR and its inhibitor, rapamycin, especially in the context of lifespan extension, has earned significant attention. Unlike mammals, which have a single TOR gene, the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae features two TOR paralogs: TOR1 and TOR2.

Methods: Expert opinions and the forward-back translation method were used for linguistic validation. Cronbach α and test-retest analysis were performed for reliability analysis.
Background: Falls in multiple sclerosis can result in numerous problems, including injuries and functional loss. Therefore, determining the factors contributing to falls in people with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS) is crucial. This study aims to investigate the contributing factors to falls in multiple sclerosis using a machine learning approach.

Palbociclib has frequently been studied in breast cancer cells and has also been linked to function of P-glycoprotein (P-gp), main protein responsible for cancer drug resistance. However, the effect of Palbociclib on cancer drug resistance and specifically doxorubicin-resistant cells overexpressing P-gp have limitedly been studied in the literature.

Background: Foreign bodies lodged in the oral cavity can be life-threatening. Their removal should be determined on the basis of the patient's condition, the type of object, the removal techniques available, the appropriate medication available and the potential complications.
Case Report: A 9-month-old girl was brought to the emergency room by ambulance after a part of a toy became stuck in her oral cavity.
Shallow lake ecosystems are particularly prone to disturbances such as pulsed dissolved organic matter (allochthonous-DOM; hereafter allo-DOM) loadings from catchments. However, the effects of allo-DOM with contrasting quality (in addition to quantity) on the planktonic communities of microbial loop are poorly understood. To determine the impact of different qualities of pulsed allo-DOM disturbance on the coupling between bacteria and ciliates, we conducted a mesocosm experiment with two different allo-DOM sources added to mesocosms in a single-pulse disturbance event: Alder tree leaf extract, a more labile (L) source and HuminFeed® (HF), a more recalcitrant source.

Methods: Patients hospitalized in the COVID-19 clinic between February 2022 and August 2022 were included in the study. Demographic, clinical features, and treatment results.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of mirror therapy and to provide a clinical basis for better functional recovery in the rehabilitation of patients with flexor tendon injury.
Materials And Methods: Thirty patients were included and randomly divided between two groups: mirror therapy and conventional treatment. A physical therapy program consisting of whirlpool, ultrasound and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation was applied to both groups.
Background: No long-term data exists on asthma treatment compliances (ATC), exacerbations (AE), and control (AC) during the COVID-19 pandemic in children. This study aimed to evaluate ATC, AE, AC and the related factors among children with persistent asthma (PA) within the first year of the pandemic Methods. Children aged 6-18 years with PA who were under regular inhaled corticosteroid treatment for at least a year prior to the first COVID-19 case in Türkiye were included.

Aim: To evaluate the relationship between unemployment anxiety, job satisfaction, and migration attitudes among Turkish nursing candidates.
Complex evolutionary dynamics governing the drug resistance is one of the major challenges in cancer treatment. Understanding these mechanisms requires a sequencing technology with higher resolution to delineate whether pre-existing or de novo drug mechanisms are behind the drug resistance. Combining this technology with clinically very relevant model system, namely 3D spheroids, better mimicking tumorigenesis and drug resistance have so far been lacking.

The literature on indicators to predict delayed neuropsychiatric syndrome in pediatric patients is limited. The aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of complete blood count parameters, neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio, platelet/lymphocyte ratio, systemic immune inflammation index, glucose/potassium ratio, venous blood gas parameters, and carboxyhemoglobin in predicting delayed neuropsychiatric syndrome in children with carbon monoxide poisoning due to coal-burning stove.

Materials And Methods: A case-control study was performed, consisting of 26 patients who underwent endometrial sampling for diagnosis and/or treatment and diagnosed with EP on biopsy and/or excision material, and 23 patients with normal endometrial findings in the pathology, for a total of 49 patients with unexplained infertility. An immunohistochemistry examination was performed on paraffin-embedded tissue samples from both groups to understand whether there was a relationship between EP and STC.

The purpose of this study is to compare biplanar custom mandibular reconstruction plates with locking reconstruction plates in bridging central and lateral mandibular segmental defects by using the finite element method. Central and two different types of lateral segmental defects were created on mandibular model that was generated from computed tomography of a male patient. Segmental defects were fixed with conventional locking reconstruction plates and two different custom designed plates with caudobuccal and dorsobuccal cover.

FK506-sensitive proline rotamase 1 protein (Fpr1p), which is a homologue of the mammalian prolyl isomerase FK506-binding protein of 12 kDa (FKBP12), is known to play important roles in protein folding and prevention of protein aggregation. Although rapamycin is known to bind to Fpr1p to inhibit Tor1p mediated-mechanistic Target Of Rapamycin (mTOR) activity, the physiological functions of Fpr1p on lifespan remain unclear. In this study, we used the eukaryotic model Saccharomyces cerevisiae to demonstrate that deletion of FPR1 reduced yeast chronological lifespan (CLS), and there was no benefit on lifespan upon rapamycin treatment, indicating that lifespan extension mechanism of rapamycin in yeast is exclusively dependent on FPR1.
