Introduction: Liver transplantation offers the most reasonable expectation for curative treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma. Living-donor liver transplantation represents a treatment option, even in patients with extended Milan criteria. This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of hepatocellular carcinoma patients, particularly those extended Milan criteria.

Methods: Between January 2004 and May 2014, 600 LDLTs which used right lobe liver grafts were performed in our center.
Purpose: In living donor liver transplantation, poor compatibility of the recipient hepatic artery remains a technical challenge. Here, we analyzed our 14 years of experience with extra-anatomic hepatic artery reconstruction.
Methods: Between July 2004 and December 2018, there were 1063 liver transplantations at our center.
Background: Previously published data have shown that age alone is not a contraindication for living donor liver transplantation (LDLT). However, careful evaluation is needed to identify the patients who are unlikely to benefit from LDLT. We hypothesized that the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) could be used as one of the criteria for risk stratification in elderly patients undergoing LDLT.

Materials And Methods: Between October 2004 and November 2015, 841 patients underwent liver transplant for end-stage liver disease at our center.

Objective: To identify the frequency of the rs143383 SNPin the GDF5 gene, which is located in the 5'-untranslated region of Turkish population with knee osteoarthritis (OA).
Study Design: Acase-control study.
Place And Duration Of Study: Orthopedics and Traumatology Department, Bozok University Medical Faculty, Yozgat, Turkey, from 2012 to 2014.
The graft-to-recipient weight ratio (GRWR) is an important selection criterion for living donor liver transplantation (LDLT). The generally accepted threshold is known to be 0.8%.

The data about elderly recipient after living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) is unsatisfactory. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcome of the LDLT with recipients aged 70 years or older.

Patients And Methods: Nasal swabs were taken from a total of 109 subjects (53 females, 56 males; mean age 34.4 years; range 18 to 65 years) including 55 non-tea drinkers and 54 subjects consuming more than 10 cups of tea a day.
Background: In Turkey, general practitioners were authorized to work as family physicians without specialization, within the scope of the Health Transformation Programme, due to inadequate number of family medicine specialists since 2004. With this new implementation Family Medicine specialty became a less preferable option for medical students.
Aims: The study was to investigate the perspectives of medical students and understand the issues to choose Family Medicine specialty as a career option.
Objective: Evaluation of anti-inflammatory effect of Glucosamine sulfate (GS) versus diclofenac sodium (DS) in effusion of osteoarthritic knees.
Methodology: In this study, patients were included in this study from 2007-2010 based on American College of Rheumatology criteria with OA and physical examination in effusion of osteoarthritic knees. The patients were divided into two groups.
Objective: There are several types of treatment modalities for wrist ganglions. The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of cyst aspiration and methyl prednisolone acetate injection with double IV cannula rather than sharp pointed needle, as a new technique in the treatment of volar ganglia.
Methodology: The study involves total of 19 patients who received treatment by aspiration and methyl prednisolone injection into the cavity.
Background: Ingrown toenails (IT) is a very common problem leading to significant associated morbidity. The articles related to phenolization for matrix removal in teenagers with IT are not enough in the foot surgery literature.
Aims: To compare the postoperative recovery periods, complication rate, and tolerability of partial matrix excision and segmental phenolization in teenagers with IT.
Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are one of the most important complications in people with diabetes mellitus. The present study was aimed to retrospectively review the efficacy of at least 1-week medical treatment before any surgical intervention in patients with Grade-3 and higher DFU according to Wagner's classification. A total of 52 patients (36 males and 16 females) hospitalized and treated between June 2006 and February 2009 and had initially received therapeutic treatment (local wound care, antibiotic therapy and blood glucose regulation) for a period of at least 1 week were included in the study.
