A dynamic study of ceramide concentrations and their association with recurrent event risk could enhance our understanding of cardiovascular complications. To assess the prognostic value of ceramide concentrations (Cer(d18:1/16:0), Cer(d18:1/18:0), Cer(d18:1/24:1), Cer(d18:1/24:0)) and their dynamics in combination with standard clinical and laboratory parameters and therapeutic interventions in ACS patients. Among 110 ACS patients, triple blood sampling was performed for targeted lipidomic analysis using high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

Materials And Methods: A total of 50 men with chronic abacterial prostatitis of category III A, occurring in combination with BPH, were included in the study. All patients received Prostatex plus (rectal suppositories) 1 suppository 1 time per day.
To evaluate the effect of early measurement of serum digoxin concentration (SDC) on therapeutical safety and efficacy in patients with recent-onset atrial fibrillation and heart failure. De novo ventricular arrhythmias, high-grade AV node or sinus node blocks were noted in 22%, this risk was positively associated with endpoint SDC (mean SDC 0,88±0,78 ng/mL vs 0,45±0,71 ng/mL, p=0,039) irrespective of baseline characteristics. Empiric calculators for long-term digoxin monitoring correlated with both SDC (r=0,54.

Mental health problems in people with FM have been reported in many studies. People with mental disorders are thought to be at higher risk of FM than the general population, but the prevalence has not been established.

As the working horse, we have chosen Yb:YVO due to its blueshifted gain spectrum. While using a single 10 W 952 nm diode for pumping and a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) for mode-locking, we have achieved 266 fs long pulses with up to 1.

Objective: To study the long-term outcomes of surgical treatment of cerebral aneurysms (CA) after using different methods of excluding the aneurysm from the bloodstream.
Material And Methods: We analyzed the long-term results of surgical treatment of 311 patients for CA (on average after 3.5 years).
Introduction: Epidural spinal cord stimulation is a minimally invasive procedure with a growing list of indications. It has a good safety profile and analgesic effect, reduces the severity of spasticity, and activates various brain regions. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical outcome of epidural spinal cord stimulation in patients with spastic syndrome and chronic disorders of consciousness resulting from severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI).

Click ligation is a technology of joining DNA fragments based on azide-alkyne cycloaddition. In the most common variant, click ligation introduces a 4-methyl-1,2,3-triazole (trz) group instead of the phosphodiester bond between two adjacent nucleosides. While this linkage is believed to be biocompatible, little is known about the possibility of its recognition by DNA repair systems or its potential for DNA polymerase stalling and miscoding.

Bacillus sp. and Pseudomonas japonica presumably stimulated the growth and reproduction of the pathogenic bacteria Listeria monocytogenes and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis.

Using femtosecond differential spectroscopy, excitation energy transfer in reaction centers (RCs) of the carotenoidless strain of purple bacteria Rhodospirillum rubrum G9 was studied at room temperature. Excitation and probing of the Q, Q and Soret absorption bands of the RCs were carried out by pulses with duration of 25-30 fs. Modeling of ΔA (light - dark) kinetics made it possible to estimate the characteristic time of various stages of excitation energy transformation.

A major challenge within this model is the difficulty in determining the timing of the process chronicity. It is likely that the triad of symptoms (inflammation, catabolism, and immunosuppression [ICIS]) could be associated with this particular point.

The aim of our study was to analyze the effects of HS donors -NaHS and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) on blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability in rats with prenatal hHCY. In rats with mild hHCY BBB permeability assessed by Evans Blue extravasation in brain increased markedly throughout life.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAtherosclerosis poses a significant and widespread problem at the population level. Consequently, there is a pressing need to develop effective methods to reduce the risk associated with this condition, which holds a prominent position in cardiology research. The primary manifestation of atherosclerosis involves plaque formation on the walls of coronary arteries.

Our primary objective is to develop an advanced temporal model for predicting cardiovascular mortality in Russian regions by integrating global and local healthcare features with economic and population dynamics. Utilizing a dataset from the Almazov Center's Department of Mortality Performance Monitoring, covering 94 regions and 752 records from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2023, our analysis incorporates key parameters such as angioplasty procedures, population morbidity rates, Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) and Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) monitoring, and demographic data.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAtherosclerosis is extremely widespread. Traditionally, it is considered a disease of older people, who most often experience problems with the heart and blood vessels. While much attention from the scientific community has been paid to studying the association between aging and atherosclerosis, as well as its consequences, there is evidence that atherosclerosis occurs at an early age.

The modification of GO was carried out by its interaction with hexamethylenediamine (HMDA) according to the mechanism of nucleophilic substitution between the amino group of HMDA (HMDA) and the epoxy groups of GO, accompanied by partial reduction of multilayer GO and an increase in the deformation of the carbon layers. The structure and properties of modified HMDA-GO were characterized using research methods such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy.
