Objective: Ibrutinib has been the first Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor (BTKi) authorized for the treatment of B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders (B-LPDs). Numerous publications have confirmed the efficacy of this orally administrated drug in chemo-free regimens for B-LPDs. They also reported several adverse events (AE) associated with ibrutinib treatment.

Introduction: Therapeutic drug monitoring of imatinib is widely performed to individualize imatinib dosage. While N-desmethyl imatinib is an active metabolite of imatinib, its concentrations are not routinely determined.

Methods: Imatinib and N-desmethyl imatinib trough plasma concentrations at steady-state were obtained from 295 patients with either chronic myeloid leukemia or gastrointestinal stromal tumor to see whether N-desmethyl imatinib provided additional information.

Thyroid storm-induced acute liver dysfunction and portal hypertension in a patient with Graves' disease: a case report.

Thyroid storm is a life-threatening condition associated with multiorgan dysfunction and decompensation. We report the case of a 41-year-old woman having Graves' disease presented with thyroid storm complicated with liver dysfunction and portal hypertension in the absence of congestive heart failure or known liver disease. After successful therapeutic management, all biological, clinical and morphological abnormalities regressed.

Aim: Ruptures of the intra-abdominal vein causing a spontaneous hemoperitoneum in cirrhotic patients is a rare condition. However, diagnosis must be considered early in cirrhotic patients with hematic ascites as a delayed diagnosis with hemodynamic instability is associated with a poor prognosis.

Case Report: We present the case of a 54-year-old cirrhotic patient who presented a spontaneous hemoperitoneum due to the rupture of the intra-abdominal vein that was diagnosed during exploratory laparoscopy.

Ephedra alata, known as a medicinal plant in China, was used in this study as aqueous extract from aerial parts, for diabetes mellitus treatment. This study was carried out on two parts, in vitro, we tested the effect of the studied extract on the inhibition of α-glucosidase and α-amylase activities, and in vivo on Wistar male rats receiving alloxan intraperitoneally at a rate of 125 mg/kg. Extract (100, 200, and 300 mg/kg of body weight) was administrated for 28 days by oral gavage.

The authors report a case of fracture of the carpal scaphoid through an intraosseous synovial cyst. Synovial cysts are not uncommon in the carpal region, and are usually discovered as an incidental radiological finding: they rarely present with wrist pain and only exceptionally as a fracture. In our knowledge, only one other case of intraosseous synovial cyst of the carpal scaphoid presenting as a fracture has been published.
