Objective: To develop the certified reference material in freeze-dried human urine.
Methods: Normal human urine was collected, mixed and filtered as a matrix, then the urine was prepared by adding standard, mixing, sub-packaging, and freeze-drying; After the homogeneity and stability were tested by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer, the urine were determined by two methods in seven independent laboratories and the uncertainty of the certified reference material was evaluated.
Results: The minimum sample intake of the developed certified reference material was 0.
Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of Saccharomyces boulardii for the treatment of acute gastroenteritis in children aged under 5.
Methods: Two independent researchers retrieved literature from PubMed, OVID, Embase, ScienceDirect, and other databases, followed by extracting indicators of the primary endpoints. Cochrane Q test and statistics were used to evaluate interstudy heterogeneity.

Objective: To describe the distribution of zinc (Zn) and copper (Cu) in urine samples of generalpopulation in eight provinces of China, to analyze their characteristics of distribution between different region, gender and age-cohorts, and to provide the baseline of themetabolites in the general population.
Methods: From 2009 to 2010, 18 120 subjects from the general population aged from 6 to 60 years old were recruited from 24 areas among 8 provinces of China mainland by random sampling. The environmental and physical condition characteristics were collected from questionnaires, and urine samples were collected at the mean time.
Oxidative stress-induced cell damage is involved in many neurological diseases. Interferon regulatory factor 6 (IRF6), a member of the IRF family of transcription factors, is required for the differentiation of skin, breast epithelium, and oral epithelium. However, the regulation and function of IRF6 in central nervous system remain unknown.

In the present study, we investigated the protective effect of perampanel, an orally active noncompetitive AMPA receptor antagonist, on BBB permeability in an in vitro ischemia model in murine brain endothelial cells (mBECs). The results showed that perampanel significantly attenuated oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD)-induced loss of cell viability, release of lactate dehydrogenase, and apoptotic cell death in a dose-dependent manner.

The purpose of this study was to determine the blood levels of manganese (Mn), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), and cadmium (Cd) among the residents (aged 12-60 years old) living in the suburb southwest of Beijing in China and to compare the outcomes with reported values in various developed countries. Blood samples were collected from 648 subjects from March 2009 to February 2010.

Hypoxemia is the most common adverse event that happened during gastrointestinal endoscopy. To estimate risk of hypoxemia prior to endoscopy, American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) classification scores were used as a major predictive factor. But the accuracy of ASA scores for predicting hypoxemia incidence was doubted here, considering that the classification system ignores much information about general health status and fitness of patient that may contribute to hypoxemia.

Described herein is the synthesis of a hapten of biocyclo[2,2,2]octene 5 designed to mimic the exo transition-state of an aza Diels-Alder reaction. Immunization of rabbits with this hapten provided polyclonal antibodies, Aza-BSA-3, which were used to synthesize adduct 4b in the first reported antibody-catalyzed exo Diels-Alder reaction.
