Ni-based catalysts supported on Hbeta zeolite for the hydrocracking of waste polyolefins.

Polyolefin plastics are the most popular polymer materials worldwide, and the catalytic degradation of post-consumer polyolefins has attracted increased attention as a viable process. In this study, two types of Ni-based catalysts supported on Hbeta zeolite, Ni-Hbeta and NiS-Hbeta, have been successfully synthesized for the hydrocracking of waste polyolefin. The experimental results indicated that the synergistic effect between Ni or NiS and the acidic sites of Hbeta zeolites can significantly enhance the tandem cracking and hydrogenation of polyolefin plastics, which suppresses the formation of gas products and coke.

To date, research has shown that infrasound impairs cognitive function, especially the ability for learning and memory. Previously, we demonstrated that impaired learning and memory induced by infrasound was closely related with glia activation; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75) contains a C-terminal globular protein module known as the death domain (DD), which plays a central role in apoptotic and inflammatory signaling through the formation of oligomeric protein complexes. A monomeric state of the p75-DD also exists depending on its chemical environment in vitro. However, studies on the oligomeric states of the p75-DD have produced conflicting findings and sparked great controversy.

Environmental Enrichment Protects Against Cognition Deficits Caused by Sepsis-Associated Encephalopathy.

Background: One of the most serious complications of sepsis is sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE), which impairs the cognition ability of survivors. Environmental enrichment (EE) has been demonstrated to alleviate cognition deficits under many kinds of brain injury conditions. However, EE's effects on SAE remain unknown.

Relationship between Preoperative Hemoglobin and Hospital Stays in Patients Receiving Prime Total Knee Arthroplasty.

Previous evidence has shown that preoperative hemoglobin is related to poor prognosis after primary total knee arthroplasty. Reviewing cohort research was conducted at the third-level academic medical center in Singapore and involved 2,676 patients. Population statistics, complications, preoperative hemoglobin (Hb) levels, length of hospital stay (LOS), and readmission information of thirty days were obtained.

Land prices are the key problem of urban land management, with prices of residential land being the most sensitive and the strongest social reflection among the different land types. Exploring spatial and temporal variation of residential land prices and the effect of land market factors on residential land prices can help the government formulate targeted regulations and policies. This study analyzes the spatial and temporal evolution of residential land prices and the factors influencing the land market in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region based on land transaction data from 2014-2017 using exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA) and a geographically weighted regression (GWR) model.

Preparation of arginine modified PEI-conjugated chitosan copolymer for DNA delivery.

Polyethylenimine-conjugated chitosan (CS-PEI) and arginine modified polyethylenimine-conjugated chitosan (CS-PEI-Arg) were prepared, and the copolymers were characterized by FTIR, (1)H NMR, and XRD. The properties of these copolymers like plasmid DNA (pDNA) binding capacity, complexes' size and zeta potential, cytotoxicity and transfection efficiency were also evaluated. The results show that CS-PEI-Arg derivatives can bind pDNA thoroughly, and form complexes with sizes about 170 nm.

Poly(ionic liquid) immobilized magnetic nanoparticles as new adsorbent for extraction and enrichment of organophosphorus pesticides from tea drinks.

New poly(ionic liquid) immobilized magnetic nanoparticles (PIL-MNPs) were synthesized via co-polymerization of 1-vinyl-3-hexylimidazolium-based ionic liquid and vinyl-modified magnetic particles and were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and magnetic measurements. The PIL-MNPs were utilized as adsorbent phases in magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE). The extraction and enrichment efficiency were evaluated by using four organophosphorus pesticides (parathion, fenthion, phoxim and temephos) as test analytes.
