Image denoising is a technique that aims to remove noise from microscopy acquisitions by taking into account prior statistics of the corrupting noise. Serological and molecular survey of brucellosis and chlamydiosis in dromedary camels from Tunisia.

The present sero-epidemiological survey was designed and conducted to scrutinize the current status of camel-related brucellosis and chlamydiosis in Tunisia. Whole blood and serum samples were collected from 470 dromedaries (Camelus dromedarius) from eight different Tunisian governorates. Serum samples were subjected to indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (iELISA).

Outbreak Investigation of Typhoid Fever in the District of Gabes, South of Tunisia.

Typhoid fever is a significant public health concern in many parts of the world, particularly in developing countries with poor sanitation and hygiene conditions. In July 2016, an outbreak of typhoid fever occurred in Ghannouche, located in the south of Tunisia. This paper reports the results of a field investigation undertaken to identify possible transmission pathways and risk factors in order to propose control and preventive measures.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Structure of the Alkali Metal Magnesium Chalcogenide NaMgS.

The new binary sodium magnesium sulfide was prepared by the mechanochemical synthesis route from NaS and MgS as starting materials. NaMgS is extremely sensitive and partially decomposes in the presence of oxygen traces. With the use of an excess of MgS in the milling process, the molar ratio of the impurities was successfully decreased from 38% (NaS + MgO) to 13% MgO.

A genome-assisted study of a heavy metal-tolerant PGPB Pantoea eucrina OB49 isolated from the rhizosphere of wheat grown on a heavy metal-contaminated site is presented. Comparative pan-genome analysis indicated that OB49 acquired heavy metal resistance genes through horizontal gene transfer.

Assessment of theory of mind in Tunisian verbal children with autism spectrum disorder.

The present study examined performance in Theory of Mind (ToM) in a group of 31 Arabic-speaking verbal children (7-12 years-old) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in comparison with neurotypical controls (NT) matched for age and for cognitive abilities. An innovative task in a digital format named "The Tunisian Social Situations Instrument" (TSSI) was used and allowed us to study four different subdomains of ToM: attribution of intention and epistemic ToM (cognitive ToM), affective ToM, and detection of faux pas (advanced ToM). Our study showed impairments in ToM in children with ASD, similar to those reported in the literature.

Nanobiotechnology can be used in food security for improving crop production; nanoparticles could enhance the growth and yield of different crop plants; therefore, this work aimed to improve a new nutrition formula of a hydroponic system using green biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles and aqueous extract. Results shown that AFM image of AgNP surface morphology provides good indicator for biosynthesizing AgNPs.

Bacteriophages as Antimicrobial Agents? Proteomic Insights on Three Novel Lytic Bacteriophages Infecting ESBL-Producing .

With the emergence of multiresistant bacteria, the use of bacteriophages is gaining renewed interest as potential antimicrobial agents. The aim of this study was to analyze the structure of three lytic bacteriophages infecting (SD1, SD2, and SD3) using a gel-based proteomics approach and the cellular response of this bacterium to phage SD1 infection at the proteome level. The combination of the results of 1-DE and 2-DE followed by mass spectrometry led to the identification of 3, 14, and 9 structure proteins for SD1, SD2, and SD3 phages, respectively.

Investigation of the Inorganic Compounds NaMV(PO) (M = Fe, Co, Ni) as Anode Materials for Sodium-Ion Batteries.
