Purpose: In early-stage breast cancer, steatotic liver disease (SLD) is associated with increased recurrence, cardiovascular events, and non-cancer death. Endocrine therapy (ET) increases the risk of SLD. The impact of cyclin-dependent kinases 4/6 inhibitors (CDK4/6i) on SLD and prognostic association in metastatic breast cancer is unknown.

Small round cell sarcoma is a group of undifferentiated malignancies arising in the bone and soft tissue, notable for Ewing sarcoma. Recently, a new World Health Organization classification has been introduced, including an additional subset of these sarcomas, named CIC-rearranged sarcoma. Within this group, CIC-FOXO4 translocation is an exceedingly rare fusion that has been reported only 4 times in the literature.

Introduction: The 21-gene recurrence score assay Oncotype DX (ODX) has clear prognostic and predictive value regarding adjuvant chemotherapy. However, recent studies have shown the clinical distinctiveness of both BRCA1/2-driven early breast cancer (EBC) and invasive lobular (ILC) breast cancers. We evaluated the association between BRCA1/2-driven EBC/ILC and Oncotype DX failure despite a recurrence score ≤ 20.

Advanced breast cancer is characterized by many physical manifestations with the potential to undermine the quality of life (most related to the cancer and some to treatments), as well as substantial impact on psychosocial well-being. Patients with advanced breast cancer and their families have complex needs that have to be addressed in order to minimize severe distress and deterioration in the quality of life of patients and their family members. This task requires the full engagement of an interdisciplinary approach to palliative care with strong emphasis on the assessment of needs and anticipated needs, patient expectations, skilled therapeutics, and commitment to continuity of care.
