Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women globally, stemming from gene mutations that prompt irregular cellular growth and subsequent tumor development. Early-stage detection of cancer cells results in a remarkable 99% survival rate. This research presents a microwave imaging technique for the non-invasive identification of tumors in the initial stages within the women's breast.

The design presented two peaks with strong absorption of more than 97% at 0.49 and 0.

Despite their great promise, their narrow bandwidth and the loss at high-frequency bands have limited their usage in medical applications. This work proposes a developed low-cost microstrip patch antenna suitable for microwave imaging (MWI) applications within the wideband frequency range.

The proposed structure is composed of copper split-ring resonators printed on Arlon Diclad 527 dielectric substrate. Reflection coefficient was determined by using numerical simulation, and the structure was experimentally tested to validate the sensor at the X band frequency.

In this work, a small multilayer ultra-wideband (UWB) patch antenna for microwave breast imaging (MWI) applications was developed both theoretically and experimentally. However, to improve the antenna performance relating to the bandwidth (BW), the radiating element of the suggested initial antenna is modified by adding a modified split ring resonator (SRR) and slits in the patch as well as the ground plane. Then, to achieve the requisite antenna properties for MWI applications such as the gain and directivity, the antenna is equipped with a uniplanar artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) structure made up of a 3 × 3 array of square modified SRR unit cells.

The proposed sensor was designed by finite integration technique (FIT) based high-frequency electromagnetic solver (CST) and was fabricated by Proto Mat E33 machine. To implement the numerical investigations, dielectric properties of the samples were first measured by a dielectric probe kit then uploaded into the simulation program.

Microwave transmission responses to industrial energy-based liquids are investigated intensively from both numerical and experimental point of view. Simulation results concerning three-dimensional electromagnetic fields have shown that the transmission coefficient of the resonator could be monitored by the magnetic coupling between the transmission line and omega resonator.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA broadband coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed monopole antenna based on conventional CPW-fed integration with an organic solar cell (OSC) of 100% insolation is suggested for Ku band satellite communication. The proposed configuration was designed to allow for 100% insolation of the OSC, thereby improving the performance of the antenna. The device structure was fabricated using a Leiterplatten-Kopierfrasen (LPKF) prototyping Printed circuit board (PCB) machine, while a vector network analyzer was utilized to measure the return loss.
