Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is characterized by the existence of a diaphragmatic defect, most frequently to the left and posterolateral, known as Bochdalek hernia, that allows abdominal contents to herniate into the thorax. The diagnosis of this rare congenital diaphragmatic hernia is made in early childhood.
