The edge structures of carbonaceous materials exhibit temperature-dependent behavior on the atomic scale, with variations in the relative ratios of zigzag, reconstructed 5-7 zigzag (ZZ57), and armchair edges observed at different temperatures. Nevertheless, the mechanisms underlying the interconversion of these edge structures and the influence of the surrounding metals remain unclear. This study investigates the reconstruction and reversible transformation processes of ZZ57 edge structures in carbon materials and examines the effects of different metal atoms (Na, K, and Ca) by using density functional theory.

The use of ferritin nanoparticles for the orderly and repetitive display of antigens on the particle surface can improve the immunogenicity of subunit vaccines. Here, we used the SpyCatcher/Spytag system to conjugate ferritin nanoparticles with the p34 protein (F-p34).

A range of framework processing operators are also developed, including an image color compensation operator, a bit plane inversion operator, and a frame displacement operator. In addition, to address image security issues, two quantum image operations have been proposed: color transformation operation and pixel blending operation.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) secrete cytokines both in vivo and in vitro, which regulate tumor cell signaling pathways and the tumor microenvironment, thereby influencing tumor progression. This study investigates the anti-melanogenesis effects of sheep umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (SUCMSCs) to assess their potential application in melanoma treatment.

The results indicate that, under identical rubbing conditions, both the critical pressure and the ignition temperature of the TC17 alloy are higher than those of the TC4 alloy. The critical ignition conditions for both alloys increase with thickness, while they decrease with increasing rotational speed, oxygen concentration, and oxygen pressure.

Objective: To evaluate the predictive value of plasma heparin-binding protein (HBP) combined with albumin (Alb) for predicting 28-day mortality in patients with sepsis.
Methods: The clinical data of patients with sepsis admitted to the emergency intensive care unit (EICU) of the People's Hospital of Shenzhen Baoan District from March 2020 to March 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. The study began at the time of the first diagnosis of sepsis upon EICU admission and ended upon patient death or at 28 days.
Sodium metal is heralded as a premier anode candidate poised to supplant lithium in next-generation rechargeable batteries due to its abundant availability, cost-effectiveness, and superior energy density. Due to the highly reactive nature of metallic sodium, an unstable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) forms spontaneously on the Na metal anode. This instability leads to non-uniform sodium deposition during cycling, promoting dendrite growth and the accumulation of "dead" sodium.

This study developed ferritin-based nanoparticles carrying the African swine fever virus (ASFV) p30 protein and evaluated their immunogenicity, aiming to provide an experimental basis for the research on nanoparticle vaccines against ASFV. Initially, the gene sequences encoding the p30 protein and SpyTag were fused and inserted into the pCold-I vector to create the pCold-p30 plasmid. The gene sequences encoding SpyCatcher and ferritin were fused and then inserted into the pET-28a(+) vector to produce the pET-F-np plasmid.

Background: Preterm brain injury (PBI) is a prevalent complication in preterm infants, leading to the destruction of critical structural and functional brain connections and placing a significant burden on families. The timely detection of PBI is of paramount importance for the prevention and treatment of the condition. However, the absence of specific clinical manifestations in the early stages of PBI renders it susceptible to misdiagnosis and missed diagnoses.

However, real-world data on its efficacy and safety in unselected patients is lacking. We conducted a retrospective cohort study to evaluate Pola-R-CHP versus R-CHOP outcomes in routine clinical practice in China.

Due to design constraints, they are unable to effectively avoid obstacles while harvesting tomatoes in tight spaces. To enhance the robot's capability in obstacle-avoidance picking of tomato bunches with various postures, this study proposes a geometric parameter optimization method for a 7 degree of freedom (DOF) robotic arm.

In this study, the heterogeneous catalyst FeO-based composites were synthesized by a one-step method using AMD sludge as a raw material, and the FeO-based materials before and after catalysis were characterized by powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effects of several key factors (pH values, HO content, TC concentration, and FeO content) of tetracycline (TC) degradation were evaluated.

NK/T-cell lymphoma (NKTCL) is a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Although L-asparaginase-based chemotherapy has significantly improved survival in early-stage patients, the prognosis is poor in advanced and relapsed or refractory patients. CD47 is a promising target for cancer immunotherapy.

Here, S-NRP@TiCT composites were in situ prepared through a phosphorus-amine-based method, wherein S-doped red phosphorus nanoparticles (S-NRP) grew and anchored on the crumpled TiCT nanosheets via Ti-O-P bonds, constructing a three-dimensional porous structure which provides fast channels for ion and electron transport and effectively buffers the volume expansion of RP.

Biallelic mutations in the GBA1 gene result in Gaucher disease (GD), and both patients with GD and carriers of a single GBA1 mutation have an increased susceptibility to Parkinson's disease (PD), but the underlying mechanisms of this association are not yet clear. In previous studies, we established Gba1 F213I point mutation mice and found that homozygous Gba1 F213I mutant mice died shortly after birth, while heterozygous mice could survive normally. In this study, we investigated the transcriptomic changes in the brain tissue of Gba1 F213I heterozygous mice, identifying 138 differentially expressed genes.

The WD40 domain of ATG16L1 is essential for LC3 recruitment to endolysosomal membranes during non-canonical autophagy, but dispensable for canonical autophagy. Canonical autophagy was utilized by FMDV, while the relationship between FMDV and non-canonical autophagy is still elusive.
