Recent evidence indicates that endocrine resistance in estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer is closely correlated with phenotypic characteristics of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Nonetheless, identifying tumor tissues with a mesenchymal phenotype remains challenging in clinical practice. In this study, we validated the correlation between EMT status and resistance to endocrine therapy in ER+ breast cancer from a transcriptomic perspective.

GLP-1RA can exert weight loss, glucose-lowering effects and various nonglycaemic effects. However, the relationship between quantitative reduction in hepatic fat content and improvement of pancreatic islet function by GLP-1RA is unclear.

However, the magnetization process may reduce availability of adsorption sites, making it challenging to balance magnetic and adsorption properties. In this study, oyster shell (OS) and clam shell (CS) material was magnetized by an improved chemical co-precipitation method.

More than 500 fragrance compounds have been documented in fragrant rice, among which 2-AP dominates the aroma of rice. This paper introduced the identification of OsBadh2 in the biosynthesis of 2-AP in rice.

This real-world study included 956 male gout patients aged 18-83 years. We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of Chinese male gout patients from 2017 to 2019.

This study focuses on flunitrazepam (FLZ) and its metabolite, 7-aminoflunitrazepam (7-FLZ), as representative psychotropic BZD. We investigated their neurotoxic effects on adult zebrafish following a 30-day exposure to environmentally relevant concentrations.

Background And Aim: Gout and cardiovascular disease are closely related, but the mechanism linking them is still unknown. Gout may affect the insulin signaling pathway inducing insulin resistance (IR). The study aims to evaluate the association between tophi and carotid atherosclerosis, considering the potential role of IR.

Here, we report activity trends in catalytic ozonation using a series of single-atom catalysts with well-defined M-NC (M: manganese, ferrum, cobalt, and nickel) active sites. The M-NC units induce locally polarized M - C bonds to capture ozone molecules onto M atoms and serve as electron shuttles for catalytic ozonation, exhibiting excellent catalytic activities (at least 527 times higher than commercial manganese dioxide).

The attention hypothesis, which assumes that font emphasis captures readers' attention, is usually used to explain the mechanism by which such emphasis operates. This study further delineates the attention hypothesis by investigating the ways in which font emphasis captures attention and its effects on the integration of emphasized information into the previous context. We computed event-related potentials and frequency band-specific electroencephalographic power changes occurring while participants read sentences containing critical words that were either emphasized (i.

Individuals often misconstrue the actual degree of economic inequality, which might account for the ambiguity in the literature about the role that inequality plays in well-being. Instead of focusing on objective inequality, we propose a subjective inequality approach by investigating the long-term association between subjective economic inequality and well-being (N = 613). We found that subjective inequality predicted lower life satisfaction and higher depression one year later, which were accounted for by more upward socioeconomic comparison and lower trust.

The deficiency of autophagy and excessive oxidative stress have been found to participate in the pathogenesis of DN. Sinensetin (SIN) has been proven to have strong antioxidant capability.

The autophagy of podocytes plays an important role in the pathogenesis of DN. Here, through screening the constituent compounds of practical and useful Chinese herbal formulas, we identified that isoorientin (ISO) strongly promoted the autophagy of podocytes and could effectively protect podocytes from high glucose (HG)-induced injury.

To further standardize the MST therapy and improve outcomes in EAML patients, based on analysis of the literature on MST, especially MST with EAML from January 1st, 2011 to November 30th, 2022, the International Microtransplant Interest Group provides recommendations and considerations for MST in the treatment of EAML. Four major issues related to MST for treating EAML were addressed: therapeutic principle of MST (1), candidates for MST (2), induction chemotherapy regimens (3), and post-remission therapy based on MST (4).

Herein, we investigated the relationship between progesterone and DKD in men and postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes mellitus. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We recruited 3,556 male and postmenopausal female patients and obtained the dominance ratio (OR) and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) associated with progesterone by logistic regression analysis after adjusting for potentially confounding variants.

Secondary OP resulting from excess endogenous or exogenous glucocorticoid is defined as glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP). Current therapeutic strategies for GIOP are similar to menopausal osteoporosis, including calcium and vitamin D supplementation, bisphosphonates, and parathyroid hormone (PTH) analogues (teriparatide).

Methods: A total of 595 patients with gout aged 18 to 80 were enrolled between June 2018 and August 2021. The subjects were divided into four groups according to FFA.
Background: Esophagogastric junctional squamous cell carcinoma (EJSCC) is quite rare among all gastric carcinoma, its potential resectable rate is low due to the late diagnosis. Recently, programmed death-1 (PD-1) blockade combined with anti-angiogenesis have gained accumulated clinical experiences in treating solid tumors. This is the first reported case with EJSCC who achieved a partial remission (PR) after neoadjuvant PD-1 blockade, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) inhibitor plus chemotherapy.

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most important complications of diabetes mellitus (DM) and has become the second cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). This study intends to investigate the molecular mechanism of increased mitochondrial fission in podocytes under the effect of high glucose (HG), and to preliminarily study the role of mitochondrial fission factor (MFF)-mediated mitochondrial fission in podocyte injury of DN. In vitro studies, we found that HG induced increased mitochondrial fission and podocyte damage.

Herein, we established a microbubble-assisted Fenton-like process to eliminate malodorous microbubble CHSH as representative gaseous S-VOCs, in which BiOCl nanosheets loaded on a three-dimensional sponge were exposed to (001) or (010) facets and induced Fenton-like interface reactions. Intriguingly, the microbubble-assisted Fenton-like process significantly removed 99.
