Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the impact of ulinastatin on cognitive disorders following hip replacement surgery in elderly patients aged 65 and older.
  • It involved 40 patients divided into two groups: one receiving ulinastatin and the other receiving a placebo (normal saline), with cognitive tests conducted preoperatively and three days post-surgery.
  • Results showed that the ulinastatin group had a significantly lower incidence of post-operative cognitive disorders (2.5%) compared to the control group (25%), along with better cognitive scores and lower serum S100beta levels after surgery.
