Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is a common complication leading to death and disability after a stroke. Currently, more studies tend to focus on stroke-associated pneumonia in patients with ischemic stroke, while there are few studies on predictors of intracerebral hemorrhage-associated pneumonia (ICHAP). It is necessary to discover new predictors to build more accurate prediction models for ICHAP.

This study employs the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model to construct a new mediation framework, examining the impact of Chinese stand-up comedians' language on audience engagement from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. Statistical analysis of data from 415 online viewers of stand-up comedy shows revealed that comedians' humorous language significantly enhanced audience engagement by positively influencing their enjoyment. Based on this, in-depth interviews were conducted with 8 viewers to understand their specific perceptions of different types of humor.

Inert allyl-type monomers have been widely documented due to reduce degradation chain transfer. Recently, we and others discovered that the [3 + 2] cyclization reaction process by a photo-driven radical reaction, which can accelerate the polymerization. It was discovered that allyl ether monomers had much higher reactivity than other allyl monomers in the suspension photopolymerization initiated by Type I photoinitiator.

Molecular materials possessing photo-tunable polarization switching is promising for optical switches, smart sensors, and data storage devices. However, it is challenging to devise a molecular material featuring simultaneous switchable magnetic and dielectric properties with regard to non-invasive and convenient light stimulus. Herein, we report a new Hofmann-type metal-organic framework (MOF) {Fe(bpt)[Pt(CN) ]} ⋅ 0.

Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is a common cause of disability or death. Although the researches on SAP have been relatively mature, the method that can predict SAP with great accuracy has not yet been determined. It is necessary to discover new predictors to construct a more accurate predictive model for SAP.

Manipulation of multi-functions in molecular materials is promising for future switching and memory devices, although it is currently difficult. Herein, we assembled the asymmetric {Fe Co} unit into a cyanide-bridged mixed-valence chain {[(Tp)Fe(CN) ] Co(BIT)} ⋅ 2CH OH (1) (Tp=hydrotris(pyrazolyl)borate and BIT=3,4-bis-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)thiophene), which showed reversible multi-phase transitions accompanied by photo-switchable single-chain magnet properties and a dielectric anomaly. Variable-temperature X-ray structural studies revealed thermo- and photo-induced selective electron transfer (ET) between the Co and one of the Fe ions.

First introduced in 1976, F-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) has become an indispensable tool for diagnosis and prognostic evaluation of tumors, heart disease, as well as other conditions, including inflammation and infection. Because F-FDG can accurately reflect the glucose metabolism level of organs and tissues, it is known as a "century molecule" and is currently the main agent for PET imaging. The degree of F-FDG uptake by cells is related to both the rate of glucose metabolism and glucose transporter expression.

The relationship between chronic bacterial colonization in the brain and Alzheimer's disease is attracting extensive attention. Recent studies indicated that the components of bacterial biofilm drive the amyloid-β production. Muramyl dipeptide, the minimal bioactive peptidoglycan motif common to all bacteria, contributes to the development of many central inflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders.

Patients with stroke have a high risk of infection which may be predicted by age, procalcitonin, interleukin-6, C-reactive protein, National Institute of Health stroke scale (NHSS) score, diabetes, etc. These prediction methods can reduce unfavourable outcome by preventing the occurrence of infection. We aim to identify early predictors for urinary tract infection in patients after stroke.

It is promising and challenging to manipulate the electronic structures and functions of materials utilizing both metal-to-metal charge transfer (MMCT) and spin-crossover (SCO) to tune the valence and spin states of metal ions. Herein, a metallocyanate building block is used to link with a Fe -triazole moiety and generates a mixed-valence complex {[(Tp )Fe (CN) ] [Fe (trz-ph) ]}⋅[Ph PMe] ⋅[(Tp )Fe (CN) ] (1; trz-ph=4-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole). Moreover, MMCT occurs between Fe and one of the Fe sites after heat treatment, resulting in the generation of a new phase, {[(Tp )Fe (CN) ][(Tp )Fe (CN) ] [Fe Fe (trz-ph) ]}⋅ [Ph PMe] ⋅[(Tp )Fe (CN) ] (1 a).

Physical properties and bioactivity are two important aspects of the activated sludge process. To solve the contradiction between these two aspects in the operation control process, the physical structure and respiration processes of sludge in different activated sludge systems were analyzed. Sludge from seven different activated sludge systems was used for the experiments, and the particle size, microscopic morphology, fractal dimension, compression settling performance, adsorption performance, and respirogram were studied and analyzed.

Sludge dewatering is one of the keys for sludge disposal and treatment of municipal wastewater treatment plants. In this study, the sludge dewaterability, flocculant consumption and costs of sludge dewatering for different wastewater treatment processes including A2/O and A2/O-MBR processes were analyzed, as well as the factors of sludge dewatering were analyzed by redundancy analysis (RDA) method, based on the data of one municipal wastewater treatment plant of Beijing in 2013. Results showed that both sludge dewaterability and flocculant consumption presented the seasonal variation, which means sludge dewatering was harder and coupled with higher flocculant consumption in the winter.

Energy consumption is the main performance indicator of reclaimed water plant (RWP) operation. Methods of specific energy consumption analysis, unit energy consumption analysis and redundancy analysis were applied to investigate the composition and spatio-temporal distribution of energy consumption in Qinghe RWP with inverted A2/O, A2/O and A2/O-MBR processes. And the A2/ O-MBR process was mainly analyzed to identify the main nodes and causes for high energy consumption, approaches for energy saving were explored, and the energy consumption before and after upgrading for energy saving was compared.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of senile dementia which is characterized by abnormal amyloid beta (Aβ) accumulation and deposition in brain parenchyma and cerebral capillaries, and leads to blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption. Despite great progress in understanding the etiology of AD, the underlying pathogenic mechanism of BBB damage is still unclear, and no effective treatment has been devised. The standard Ginkgo biloba extract EGb761 has been widely used as a potential cognitive enhancer for the treatment of AD.

Allergic asthma is characterized by airway inflammation caused by infiltration and activation of inflammatory cells that produce cytokines. Many studies have revealed that c-kit, a proto-oncogene, and its ligand, stem cell factor (SCF), play an important role in the development of asthmatic inflammation. Intranasal small interference RNA (siRNA) nanoparticles targeting specific viral gene could inhibit airway inflammation.
