Background: Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS)-mediated myocardial inflammation and apoptosis plays an important role in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Dexmedetomidine has been used clinically with sedative, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
