Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to create a recombinant human adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) that expresses luciferase and GFP to help in assessing adenovirus vaccines using common marmosets as subjects.
  • The researchers successfully constructed the shuttle plasmid and packaged the recombinant adenovirus, achieving a high titer and testing for neutralizing antibodies in 14 marmosets.
  • Results showed a low rate (28.6%) of Ad5-neutralizing antibodies in marmosets, indicating they could be useful models for future adenovirus vaccine research.

Background: Human chemokine-like factor 1 (CKLF1), a recently discovered chemokine, has a broad spectrum of biological functions in immune-mediated diseases. It is highly expressed on Th2 lymphocytes and is a functional ligand for human CCR4. CKLF1 has a major role in the recruitment and activation of leucocytes, which plays an important role in the pathogenesis of allergic diseases.
