Background: Fermentation has been shown to improve the biological properties of plants and herbs. Specifically, fermentation causes decomposition and/or biotransformation of active metabolites into high-value products. Polyacetylenes are a class of polyketides with a pleiotropic profile of bioactivity.

The distinctive nature of the endophyte , host plant, and the phytopathogen resulted in both negative and positive regulation of the production of phytotoxins from . The coculture of nonhomologous and resulted in a greater number of anti-phytopathogenic metabolites from the dominant endophyte than the coculture of homologous and The coculture of the phytopathogen and either the nonhomologous (isolation of and from the different plants) or homologous (isolation of and from the same plant) endophyte from different sources indicated that the nonhomologous grew faster than the homologous , and the production of phytotoxic azaphilone from the phytopathogenic decreased due to the inhibition resulting from being cocultured with nonhomologous . On the other hand, the production of phytotoxic azaphilone was promoted by the coculture of two phytopathogens, and .

The investigation of the metabolites from different cocultures of and in solid medium revealed two new squalenes ( and ); one new azaphilone (); two new tremulane sesquiterpenes ( and ); and three known compounds, conocenol B (), conocenol C (), and 4-(4-dihydroxymethylphenoxy)benzaldehyde (). The antagonistic relationship was examined by studying metabolite production. The production of compounds and by after the induction of coculture indicated significant selectivity for antifungal activity against phytopathogenic , with MICs of 16 μg/mL; compounds and also exhibited antifungal activities in vivo against infected by at concentrations of 100 μg/mL.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how specific genetic variations (polymorphisms) in certain HLA genes are linked to the occurrence of aplastic anemia (AA) in 65 patients from Northern China.
  • Researchers used advanced genetic testing methods on both AA patients and a larger group of healthy controls to compare allele frequencies, finding significant associations between specific HLA genes and AA.
  • Key findings indicate that certain alleles like HLA-B*1302 and HLA-DRB1*0901 are more common in AA patients, suggesting they may increase susceptibility to the condition, while HLA-A*3303 and HLA-DQB1*0302 appear to have a protective effect.

Objective: To analyse the feasibility and compare differences between hematopoietic reconstitution and prognosis of patients with severe aplastic anemia(SAA) after matched sibling donor (MSD) or haploidentical family donor (HFD) hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) using the modified FC/ATG conditioning.

Methods: The clinical data of 56 patients with SAA who received HSCT in First Affiliated Hospital of Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 2011 to June 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. The hematopoietic reconstitution, graft verus host disease (GVHD), transplantation related toxicity (TRT) and prognosis after transplantation were compared.

Context: Allogeneic reactive NK cells were previously shown to exert a graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) effect during allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, as well as reduce the incidence of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).

Objective: We used autologous immature DCs as feeder cells for the in-vitro expansion of NK cells and studied the function of the NK cell cultures.

Materials And Methods: NK cells were cultured for 15 days in the presence of autologous, immature DCs.

We examined if transplantation of combined haploidentical hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) affected graft failure and graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in patients with severe aplastic anemia (SAA). Patients with SAA-I (N = 17) received haploidentical HSCT plus MSC infusion. Stem cell grafts used a combination of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-primed bone marrow and G-CSF-mobilized peripheral blood stem cells of haploidentical donors and the culture-expanded third-party donor-derived umbilical cord MSCs (UC-MSCs), respectively.

Recorded in Da he wai ke (The External Medicine of Da He) in the Ming dynasty without a corresponding disease title in contemporary scholarly concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Chiding disease was described as an acute symptomatic disease with inevitable serious conditions of convulsion-like or mania-like behavior, and as a refractory ailment. It was also considered as an alias of Hongsiding (namely the acute lymphangitis) in few ancient books. Matixiang, a Chinese herb for treatment of Chiding, was regarded as a nonsuch drug by Da he wai ke, and was considered as a take-then-cure drug by Chuang yang jing yan quan shu (Compendium for Experience in Sores Diseases).
