Background: Lupus cystitis, a severe complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), presents considerable treatment challenges.
Purpose: This case report describes the use of telitacicept in treating severe SLE with lupus cystitis.
Research Design: A single patient with lupus cystitis.
Background: Pembrolizumab (PEM) has been shown to be effective in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but clinical trials were based on cohorts of patients selected on specific criteria, and whether the findings are consistent with real-world patients is debatable. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of PEM in the treatment of advanced NSCLC based on real-world data.
Methods: A retrospective collection of real-world data from patients with advanced NSCLC receiving PEM was conducted.
Dermatomyositis (DM) positive for anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 (MDA5) antibodies, mainly when linked with rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease (RP-ILD), is considered a refractory disease. Our report describes a critical case of clinically amyopathic dermatomyositis (CADM) with RP-ILD that tested positive for both anti-MDA5 and anti-Ro-52 antibodies. The patient showed a limited response to a combined therapy regimen of prednisone, iguratimod, and tacrolimus.

Currently, the effect of combined microplastic and drought stress on crop growth remain poorly understood. In this work, the mechanism of multi-stress responses was investigated under the exposure of polvinylchloride microplastic (PV) and drought (D) individually and in combination (DPV) on rice varieties Hanyou73 and Q280 through proteomics and metabolomic analysis.

Reports on the influences of spring frost on crop losses are not consistent, which may be because insufficient indicators of spring frost were included in the analysis. To bridge this gap, we analyzed global temperature datasets and production data for the three major crops of maize, winter wheat, and rice from 1981 to 2016. Five indicators of spring frost events: temperature fluctuation (T), temperature difference (T), duration (T), occurrence date (T), and frequency (T) were considered to assess their relationship with yield losses.

However, the diversity and functions of P450 genes from pyrethroid-resistant populations of Anopheles sinensis have not been fully explored. In this study, P450 genes associated with pyrethroid resistance were systematically screened using RNA-seq in three field pyrethroid-resistant populations (AH-FR, CQ-FR, YN-FR) and one laboratory resistant strain (WX-LR) at developmental stages, tissues, and post blood-meal in comparison to the laboratory susceptible strain (WX-LS) in An.

This study primarily examines the therapeutic effect of ALPPS in treating HCC with macrovascular invasion. Methods 89 patients who underwent ALPPS at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from December 2016 to December 2021 were included.

Ubiquitin-like containing PHD and RING finger domains 1 (UHRF1) is involved in tumorigenicity through DNA methylation in various cancers, including breast cancer. This study aims to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of UHRF1 in breast cancer progression. Herein, we show that UHRF1 is upregulated in breast cancer tissues and cell lines as measured by western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry.

Currently, the mechanism of combined antibiotic and drought stress response and its impact on crop growth and food security remains poorly understood. Here, the mechanism of stress responses under the exposure of norfloxacin (NF) and drought (D) individually and in combination (DNF) were explored on rice (Oryza sativa) cultivar Hanyou73 through proteomics and metabolomic analysis.

Serological tests, which are uncomfortable and not frequently conducted, assist in medical assessments. A non-invasive, convenient method for determining these test results would be beneficial for monitoring patient health.

This study aims to scrutinize the current state of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment in Shaanxi province, providing valuable insights into the local practices and outcomes.
Methods: We selected 25 hospitals that typically represent the current diagnosis and treatment strategy of breast cancer in Shaanxi (a province in northwest China).
Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most common cancer worldwide and is a heterogeneous disease. Among GC subtypes, the mesenchymal phenotype (Mes-like) is more invasive than the epithelial phenotype (Epi-like). Although gene expression of the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) has been studied, the regulatory landscape shaping this process is not fully understood.

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a new procedure, hepatic artery restriction operation combined with ALPPS (HARO-ALPPS), in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients especially with severe fibrosis.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 8 patients who underwent HARO-ALPPS for HCC and compared their outcomes with 64 patients who underwent conventional ALPPS.
Unlabelled: Immune checkpoint therapy (ICB) has conferred significant and durable clinical benefit to some patients with cancer. However, most patients do not respond to ICB, and reliable biomarkers of ICB response are needed to improve patient stratification. Here, we performed a transcriptome-wide meta-analysis across 1,486 tumors from ICB-treated patients and tumors with expected ICB outcomes based on microsatellite status.

The current methods of BC detection include X-ray mammography, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography and breast thermographic techniques. More recently, machine learning (ML) tools have been increasingly employed in diagnostic medicine for its high efficiency in detection and intervention.

Here we review mathematical models of oxygenic photosynthesis that are extensively used, and discuss in depth a subset that accounts for diverse approaches providing solutions to our objective. These include models (1) to study different ways to enhance photosynthesis, such as fine-tuning antenna size, photoprotection and electron transport; (2) to bioengineer carbon metabolism; and (3) to evaluate the interactions between the process of photosynthesis and the seasonal crop dynamics, or those that have included statistical whole-genome prediction methods to quantify the impact of photosynthesis traits on the improvement of crop yield.

Materials And Methods: LACC patients were recruited prospectively from May 2021 to May 2022 at a single center and were evenly randomized into the BMS group and the control group. All patients received pelvic irradiation with concurrent cisplatin (40 mg/m2 weekly), followed by brachytherapy and BM V40 < 25% in the BMS group was additionally prescribed.
Introduction: Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) astrocytopathy is a novel autoimmune neurological disorder and is diagnosed by GFAP-IgG in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) measurement.
Case Report: Herein, we described a 10-year-old boy with abnormal neurological symptoms and signs. GFAP-IgG was detected in CSF using cell-based assay (CBA), and his CSF showed an increase in lymphocytes, a slight decrease in glucose and an increase in protein level in the early stage.

In this research, ChlF was measured during strong actinic light by using a pseudo-random binary sequence as a time-variant multiple-frequency illumination excitation. The responses were observed in the time domain but were primarily analyzed in the frequency domain in terms of amplitude gain variations.

The endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) is a conserved protein machine mediating membrane remodeling and scission. In the context of viral infection, different components of the ESCRT-III complex, which serve as the core machinery to catalyze membrane fission, are involved in diverse viruses' entry, replication, and/or budding. However, the interplay between ESCRT-III and viral factors in the virus life cycle, especially for that of large enveloped DNA viruses, is largely unknown.

Microbiome, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, plays a crucial role in shaping distal and proximal anti-tumor immunity. Mounting evidence showed that commensal microbiome critically modulates immunophenotyping of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a leading cause of cancer-related death. However, their role in anti-tumor surveillance of HCC is still poorly understood.
