Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and oxidative stress have been involved in the occurrence of neuronal apoptosis in ischemic retinopathy. Pigment epitheliu-derived factor (PEDF) is well known for its multifunctional properties, including neuroprotection, anti-inflammation and antioxidant.
