In this study, we present a novel catalyst-free energy transfer mediated radical rearrangement strategy for the aryl-heterofunctionalization of unactivated alkynes, leading to the synthesis of polyfunctional olefins with exceptional stereoselectivity. This innovative approach, driven by visible light, exemplifies green chemistry principles by eliminating the reliance on transition metals, external oxidants, and photocatalysts. The broad applicability of our method is demonstrated through the successful synthesis of a diverse array of compounds, including vinyl sulfones, vinyl selenides, and vinyl sulfides.

The immune system is a key player in the onset and progression of neurodegenerative disorders. While brain resident immune cell-mediated neuroinflammation and peripheral immune cell (eg, T cell) infiltration into the brain have been shown to significantly contribute to Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology, the nature and extent of immune responses in the brain in the context of AD and related dementias (ADRD) remain unclear. Furthermore, the roles of the peripheral immune system in driving ADRD pathology remain incompletely elucidated.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a major cause of acute and chronic hepatitis in humans. The HEV open reading frames (ORF1) encodes a large non-structural protein essential for viral replication, which contains several functional domains, including helicase and RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. A confusing aspect is that, while RNA viruses typically encode large polyproteins that rely on their enzymatic activity for processing into functional units, the processing of the ORF1 protein and the mechanisms involved remain unclear.

Angelman syndrome (AS) is a rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorder with profoundly debilitating symptoms with no FDA-approved cure or therapeutic. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and its receptor tropomyosin receptor kinase B (TrkB), have a well-established role as regulators of synaptic plasticity, dendritic outgrowth and spine formation. Previously, we reported that the association of postsynaptic density protein 95 (PSD-95) with TrkB is critical for intact BDNF signaling in the AS mouse model, as illustrated by attenuated PLCγ and PI3K signaling and intact MAPK pathway signaling.

The occurrence and development of cancer involves the participation of many factors, its pathological mechanism is far more complicated than other diseases, and the treatment is also extremely difficult. Although the treatment of cancer adopts diversified methods to improve the survival rate and quality of life of patients, but the drug resistance, metastasis and recurrence of cancer cause most patients to fail in treatment. Therefore, exploring new molecular targets in cancer pathology is of great value for improving and preventing the treatment of cancer.
