Background: While alterations in the vasculature supplying the breast have been extensively recorded, there is no information on the direct breast branches of the axillary artery (AA). An elucidation of the direct breast branches may prove beneficial during mammoplasty.
Objective: This study sought to investigate the anatomical characterization of breast vasculature utilizing three-dimensional (3D) technology to establish an anatomical foundation for therapeutic operations.
To evaluate the relative efficacy of various physical therapy interventions for chronic ankle instability (CAI). A network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Scopus, and CINAHL bibliographic databases were searched up to December 2023.

Methods: Pregnant C57BL/6 mice received L.
Background: Epidemiological evidence suggests that maternal intake of nonnutritive sweeteners is positively associated with early childhood asthma incidence. We investigated the effects of maternal aspartame exposure during pregnancy and lactation on lung Th1/Th2 cytokine balance and intestinal microbiota in offspring and explored the mechanisms that mediate these effects.
Method: Pregnant BALB/c mice were randomly divided on gestational day 7 into two dietary intervention groups: control (drinking water only) and aspartame (drinking water +0.

Copper ions and iron ions are abundant metal ions in nature, and are also essential trace elements in the human body, playing a crucial role in various physiological activities. However, the detection of copper and iron ions also poses significant challenges. This article reports the synthesis of a novel fluorescent probe X based on the pyrazole structure, which exhibits unique optoelectronic properties, strong biological activity, good selectivity, excellent detection limit, high sensitivity, and its structure was characterized by H NMR, C NMR, and HR-ESI-MS.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) modulate immunity via IDO but also suppress IFN-γ. While MSC IDO induction by IFN-γ is established, other drivers in this immunosuppressive setting remain unknown.

Research Methods And Procedures: Sorbitol intake, body mass index (BMI), and fecal samples were collected in the total of 369 pregnant women with their infants (aged 4 months to 5 years) from the Taipei Mother-Infant Nutrition Cohort and 1946 children and adolescents (aged 6-18 years) from the Taiwan Puberty Longitudinal Study. The BMI-z score in sorbitol users was compared to that in sorbitol nonusers using generalized linear mixed model.
Background: Currently, optimal treatment strategy for resectable primary small cell carcinoma of the esophagus (PSmCCE) remains controversial. To address this, we conducted a multicenter study to evaluate treatment patterns and long-term survival of PSmCCE patients who underwent radical resection.
Methods: This retrospective multicenter study included resected PSmCCE patients who received radical resection at seven high-volume cancer centers.
Protein-protein interactions play critical roles in biological processes. We previously developed the Pil1 co-tethering assay, an imaging-based method to detect protein-protein interactions in living Schizosaccharomyces pombe cells. This assay leverages the distinct localization pattern of the Pil1 protein by fusing a bait protein to Pil1 and examining whether a prey protein co-localize with the Pil1-fused bait.

The aim of this study was to analyze the long- and short-term outcomes of patients with more advanced T-staged GBC treated with curative intent as defined by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) after laparoscopic resection (LR) versus open resection (OR).
Methods: A multicenter database was used to select consecutive GBC patients treated with curative-intent resection as defined by the NCCN between 2016 and 2020.
Background And Aims: In patients with NAFLD, liver fibrosis increases liver-related complications, but there is controversy about the increase in CVD. Based on a prospective cohort study, this study investigated the risk of cardiovascular disease due to liver fibrosis in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
Methods And Results: This study analyzed KCPS-II prospective cohort that tracked 104,399 people who participated in health check-ups at 18 institutions nationwide from 2004 to 2013.
Osteoporosis, a prevalent ailment worldwide, compromises bone strength and resilience, particularly afflicting the elderly population. This condition significantly heightens susceptibility to fractures even from trivial incidents, such as minor falls or impacts. A major challenge in diagnosing osteoporosis is the absence of discernible symptoms, allowing osteoporosis to remain undetected until the occurrence of a fracture event.

Methods: Hub genes were identified by intersecting the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of the GSE131761 and GSE9960 databases with genes from the hub modules of Weighted Gene Co-Expression Network Analysis (WGCNA), targets of quercetin, and ferroptosis. Subsequently, in order to determine the functional characteristics and molecular link of hub gene obtained above, we redetermined the hub-DEGs in GSE131761 according to high or low hub gene expression.

Purpose: To compare vertebroplasty (VP) and kyphoplasty (KP) with a titanium implantable vertebral augmentation device (TIVAD) in symptomatic subsequent vertebral compression fracture (SVCF) incidence among osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) patients stratified by age and sex.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study involved OVCF patients aged ≥ 50, who underwent KP with TIVAD or VP in our hospital from 2014 to 2019. Subgroup analysis was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of KP with TIVAD and VP in patients stratified by age and sex.

Purpose: This study aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of the meaning and nature of nursing doctoral students' lived work-life balance experiences.
Methods: A qualitative descriptive study was conducted with 11 doctoral nursing students who worked and raised children. In-depth interviews were conducted to collect data, providing insight into the participants' work-life balance experiences.
The objective of this study was to explore the potential causalities of fat mass, nonfat mass and height (henceforth, 'anthropometric measures') with sepsis risk and mortality. We conducted the Mendelian randomization (MR) investigation using genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics of anthropometric measures, sepsis, and sepsis mortality. The GWAS summary data from the UK Biobank was used.
