Comparison of transversus abdominis plane blocks with liposomal bupivacaine versus ropivacaine in open total abdominal hysterectomy.

Regional anesthesia is frequently employed in efforts to improve postoperative analgesia and reduce opioid requirements following abdominal surgery. The purpose of the current analysis was to determine if there was a difference in postoperative pain and opioid consumption between patients who underwent open total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH) and received ultrasound-guided bilateral transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks using either liposomal bupivacaine or ropivacaine. A single-center retrospective analysis was conducted of 215 patients from November 2018 through March 2020 who underwent an open TAH and received bilateral TAP blocks with either liposomal bupivacaine or ropivacaine.

Readability and Quality of Online Patient Education Material on Websites of Breast Imaging Centers.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess the readability and quality of patient information regarding mammography, tomosynthesis, and breast density on the websites of ACR-designated mammography Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence (BICOEs) in the United States.

Materials And Methods: In this institutional review board-exempt study, websites of mammography BICOEs were identified by state. Websites were assessed for presence of patient education material on screening mammography, tomosynthesis, and breast density.

Background: Ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) are frequently utilized; however some ambulatory procedures may be performed in hospital outpatient departments (HOPs). Our aim was to compare operating room efficiency between our ASC and HOP.
