Poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase-1 (PARP1) could be activated by binding to nucleic acids with specific sequences, thus catalyzing the poly-ADP-ribosylation (PARylation) of target proteins including PARP1 itself. Most of the previously reported electrochemical methods for the determination of PARP1 were relied on the electrostatic interactions, which required the pre-immobilization of DNA on an electrode for the capture of PARP1. Due to the limited efficacy and evident side effects of traditional chemotherapy drugs attributed to their lack of specificity and selectivity, novel strategies are essential for improving cancer treatment outcomes. Here, we successfully engineered FeO magnetic nanoparticles coated with zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8). The resulting nanocomposite (FeO@ZIF-8) demonstrates efficient adsorption of a substantial amount of doxorubicin (DOX) due to the porous nature of ZIF-8.

We hypothesize that 24S-HC worsens ischemic brain injury via its potentiation of the NMDAR, and reducing the production of 24S-HC by targeting its synthetic enzyme CYP46A1 provides neuroprotection.

Transition metal-based nanoparticles (NPs) are emerging as potential alternatives to platinum for catalyzing the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in zinc-air batteries (ZAB). However, the simultaneous coexistence of single-atom moieties in the preparation of NPs is inevitable, and the structural complexity of catalysts poses a great challenge to identifying the true active site. Herein, by employing in situ and ex situ XAS analysis, we demonstrate the coexistence of single-atom moieties and iron phosphide NPs in the N, P co-doped porous carbon (in short, Fe-N-FeP NPs/NPC), and identify that ORR predominantly proceeds via the atomic-dispersed Fe-N sites, while the presence of FeP NPs exerts an inhibitory effect by decreasing the site utilization and impeding mass transfer of reactants.

In this study, a multifunctional additive, 5-fluoro-2-pyrimidine carbonitrile (FPDCN) molecule, is added into the perovskite precursor solution in order to passivate the uncoordinated Pb by the cyanogen (-CN) group and pyrimidine N in FPDCN. Interestingly, fluorine (F) atoms interact with FA to form hydrogen bonds, which could regulate the perovskite crystallization process for the formation of high-quality perovskite crystals.

Objective: To assess the application value of CNVPLUS-array for the genetic analysis of Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
Methods: From June 2021 to December 2022, CNVPLUS-array technique was employed to test the SMN1 and SMN2 genes among peripheral blood samples from 17 suspected SMA patients, 18 core families with suspected SMA, and 25 healthy individuals. The results were compared with those of multiple ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) assay.
