Objectives: The objective of this study was to observe the influence of laparoscopic adenomyomectomy on perinatal outcomes.
Materials And Methods: The retrospective cohort study included 43 pregnant cases with adenomyosis who did not undergo laparoscopic surgery before pregnancy (nonsurgery group; 26 cases) and did (surgery group; 17 cases). To evaluate the impact of surgery on perinatal outcomes, nine obstetric complications including preterm delivery, hypertensive disorder of pregnancy, placental malposition, oligohydramnios, gestational diabetes mellitus, uterine rupture, abruptio placentae, and postpartum hemorrhage were selected.
Aim: No studies have examined the association between plasma pentosidine levels and ossification diseases in large cohorts of Japanese residents. This study aimed to investigate the association between cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) and other ossification diseases, including diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis, lumbar spondylosis and knee osteoarthritis (OA), by examining plain radiographs of the knee, and cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine from 1690 participants, and the association between these diseases and plasma pentosidine.
Design: We enrolled 1690 participants (596 men and 1094 women) from mountainous and coastal areas from the study population of the previous Research on Osteoarthritis/Osteoporosis Against Disability study.
Objectives: This study aimed to clarify the molecular mechanism underlying the higher invasion and metastasis abilities of LMF4 cells than those of HSC-3 cells by comparing the expression levels of the tumor suppressor factor, cell adhesion molecule 1 (CADM1).
Methods: We explored 1) whether CADM1 expression level was downregulated in LMF4 cells compared with HSC-3 cells, 2) whether CADM1 expression knockdown increased the expression levels of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), 3) the exact cellular signaling pathways responsible for increased MMP expression after knockdown of CADM1 expression, and 4) whether disruption of CADM1-dependent HSC-3 cell adhesion increased the migratory and invasive activities of HSC-3 cells.
Results: CADM1 expression was lower in the LMF4 than in the HSC-3 cells.
To investigate the host ability of a simple macrocycle, 1,3-phenylene-bridged naphthalene hexamer N6, we evaluated the complexation of N6 with fullerenes in toluene and in the crystals. The complexes in the solid-state demonstrate the one-dimensional alignment of fullerenes. The single-crystals of the C@N6 composite have semiconductive properties revealed by photoconductivity measurements.

We investigated the effect of cervical percutaneous interferential current stimulation on dysphagia. By conducting detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis of videofluoroscopic examination, we aimed to understand dysphagia in patients with PD and investigate its effects on swallowing function.

Unexpectedly, this reaction resulted in the formation of a dianion species without the elimination of the Tbt group. This is totally different from the reactions of Tbt-substituted germa- or stannabenzene with KC , which resulted in the formation of the corresponding heavy analogues of phenyl anion, together with the elimination of Tbt group.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, randomized single-center clinical trial included patients with hemodynamically significant recurrent vascular access stenosis of an arteriovenous fistula. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to assess primary patency, whereas the log-rank test was used to evaluate differences in patency between groups.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to examine the effectiveness and drug tolerability of biological DMARD (bDMARD) and Janus kinase inhibitor (JAKi) monotherapy in patients with RA in a multicentre cohort study.
Methods: Patients with RA for whom bDMARD/JAKi monotherapy without conventional synthetic DMARDs has been initiated were included. Monotherapy regimens were categorized as IL-6 receptor inhibitors (IL-6Ris), cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 immunoglobulin (CTLA4Ig), JAKis, or TNF inhibitors (TNFis).
Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) exhibit important photophysical properties, such as long-range energy diffusion, miniband formation, and collective photoluminescence, when aggregated into well-defined superstructures, such as three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) superlattices. However, the construction of one-dimensional (1D) QD superstructures, which have a simpler arrangement, is challenging; therefore, the photophysical properties of 1D-arranged QDs have not been studied previously. Herein, we report a versatile strategy to obtain 1D-arranged QDs using a supramolecular polymer (SP) template.

Sevelamer carbonate, a non-calcium-based polymeric resin, is one of the commonly prescribed agents for the management of hyperphosphatemia in patients undergoing hemodialysis. This was an open-label, crossover study in healthy male subjects (N = 12) that evaluated the effect of sevelamer carbonate (2400 mg) on the bioavailability of enarodustat (25 mg) when the 2 drugs were administered together (Treatment B) or when enarodustat was administered 3 hours after (Treatment C) or 1 hour before (Treatment D) sevelamer carbonate compared to enarodustat alone (Treatment A).

We report the direct formation of dicarboxylate-based coordination polymer glasses through thermal dehydration. The rearrangement of the coordination networks caused by dehydration was monitored by powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and synchrotron X-ray characterizations. The microporosity and mechanical properties of these glasses were investigated.

However, the utility of miRNAs as predictors of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) progression in longitudinal studies has not been reported. We aimed to identify circulating miRNAs (c-miRNAs) associated with KOA progression in the general population and to examine their potential use as predictors of KOA progression.

One variant of choroidal anastomosis, "transcallosal anastomosis," originates from the medial posterior choroidal artery, and penetrates the corpus callosum to reconstruct the pericallosal artery. We aimed to investigate the prevalence and the bleeding rate of transcallosal anastomosis using sliding thin-slab maximum intensity projection reformatted from magnetic resonance angiography (MRA).

SEGA typically arises during the first two decades of life and rarely arises after the age of 20-25 years. Nevertheless, it has also been reported that glioma histologically resembling SEGA, so-called SEGA-like astrocytoma, can arise in neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) patients, even in the elderly.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of the SP sequence mode on high-resolution manometry (HRM) with oral intake difficulty and aspiration pneumonia.
Methods: Consecutive patients with dysphagia who were admitted to our dysphagia clinic between November 2016 and November 2020 were enrolled in this cross-sectional study.
Background: Some COVID-19 patients develop life-threatening disease accompanied by severe pneumonitis. Teprenone induces expression of heat-shock proteins (HSPs) that protect against interstitial pneumonia in preclinical models. We explored whether teprenone prevented worsening of COVID-19 infections.
