The spreading of stapled suture techniques has also entailed the utilization of staplers in gastric surgery. A functional, up-to-date, and exclusively stapled reconstruction procedure, Roux-Y-reconstruction, after subtotal gastrectomy was established and analyzed in a pilot study (n = 25). In doing so, one proceeded as follows after subtotal gastrectomy and systematic lymphadenectomy in cases of carcinoma: duodenal closure (GIA or TA30), gastric resection (TA90), jejunojejunostomy (EEA25), gastrojejunostomy (EEA25/28), closure of the projecting efferent loop (GIA).

To fulfill its putative role in short- and long-term modification of the vestibulo-ocular reflex, the flocculus of the cerebellum must send efferents to brainstem nuclei involved in the control of eye movements. In order to reveal the sites of these interactions, we determined the projections of the flocculus by autoradiography and orthograde transport of horseradish peroxidase in five rhesus macaques. Anterogradely labeled axons collected at the base of the injected folia and coursed caudally and medially between the middle cerebellar peduncle and the flocculus.

Labeled neurons were found in a large set of nuclei within the rostral medulla and the pons. The greatest numbers of labeled neurons were in the vestibular complex and the nucleus prepositus hypoglossi.

According to its sequence, this gene has a single transcriptional initiation site and a single polyadenylylation signal. Nuclease S1 mapping of this gene with total human epidermal mRNA confirmed the presence of a single initiation site for the 50-kDa keratin gene.

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in physiological retroplacental concentration has been shown to induce human female lymphocytes which suppress the proliferation and differentiation of B cells stimulated by purified protein derivative of tuberculin. To test whether the hCG-induced suppression was sex dependent parallel experiments using female and male peripheral lymphocytes were performed. hCG did not induce cells capable of suppressing purified protein derivative induced B cell proliferation in lymphocytes from males, which was in contrast to lymphocytes from females where a statistically significant suppression was found.

At the cutoff date of February 28, 1974, all patients had been followed for at least 6 months. During the period of study, 884 Antigon-F devices, representing 14,436 woman-months of use, were inserted.

The specificity of the antibodies was studied by a radioimmunoassay measuring the direct binding of [(3)H]tRNA(Phe) or the inhibition of the binding. The antibodies formed are predominantly directed towards the characteristic highly modified nucleoside Y, which is located right next to the anticodon.
