In this work, we developed a facile method to fabricate low-cost, flexible, and high-thermoelectric-performance n-type AgSeS@(AgSSe/S) composite film on a nylon membrane. The composite film was prepared by first performing wet-chemical synthesis of the S-doped AgSe powder, then vacuum-assisted filtration of the powder on a nylon membrane, and finally hot-pressing. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation and energy-dispersive system (EDS) analysis of the film revealed that the film had a porous network-like microstructure, in which AgSeS sub-micron grains formed the skeleton and are coated by a ∼15 nm thick layer of S-rich AgSSe nanograins mixed with an S amorphous phase.

Here we show that procyanidin C1 (PCC1), a polyphenolic component of grape seed extract (GSE), increases the healthspan and lifespan of mice through its action on senescent cells. By screening a library of natural products, we find that GSE, and PCC1 as one of its active components, have specific effects on senescent cells.

Here, we demonstrate that histone demethylase LSD1 acts to enforce an epigenetic program in progenitor exhausted CD8 T cells to antagonize the TCF1-mediated progenitor maintenance and to promote terminal differentiation. Consequently, genetic perturbation or small molecules targeting LSD1 increases the persistence of the progenitor exhausted CD8 T cells, which provide a sustained source for the proliferative conversion to numerically larger terminally exhausted T cells with tumor-killing cytotoxicity, thereby leading to effective and durable responses to anti-PD1 therapy.

Methods: We used data from the National Vital Statistics System, a nationwide, population-based death registry, to determine national trends in PD mortality, overall and by age, sex, race/ethnicity, urban-rural classification, and geographic location.
Background: Loss of dystrophin protein causes Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), characterized by progressive degeneration of cardiac and skeletal muscles, and mortality in adolescence or young adulthood. Although cardiac failure has risen as the leading cause of mortality in patients with DMD, effective therapeutic interventions remain underdeveloped, in part, because of the lack of a suitable preclinical model.
Methods: We analyzed a novel murine model of DMD created by introducing a 4-bp deletion into exon 4, one of the exons encoding the actin-binding domain 1 of dystrophin (referred to as mice).
