Objective: This study aimed to investigate the link between circulating interleukin-18 (IL-18) levels and adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD).
Methods: A thorough search was performed on MEDLINE, Embase, and Web of Science to find relevant articles. A meta-analysis was conducted to compare serum/plasma IL-18 levels in AOSD patients to those in control subjects.
Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the relationships between urate-lowering therapy (ULT) and both all-cause and cardiovascular disease (CVD)-specific mortality in patients diagnosed with gout or hyperuricemia.
Methods: The PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases were thoroughly searched to gather literature on overall and/or CVD-specific hazard ratios (HRs) of patients with gout or hyperuricemia. A meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the mortality risks of UTL users in gout or hyperuricemia populations.
Rationale And Objectives: The escalating incidence of placental accreta spectrum (PAS), a pregnancy complication, underscores the need for accurate prenatal diagnosis to guide optimal management strategies. This study aims to develop, validate, and compare various prenatal PAS prediction models integrating clinical data, MRI signs, and radiomics signatures.
Materials And Methods: A cohort comprising 111 patients (72 with PAS and 39 without, denoted as N-PAS) served as the training set, while another 47 patients (33 PAS and 14 N-PAS) constituted the validation set.
The CRISPR-Cas12a system has emerged as a promising tool for molecular diagnostics due to its indiscriminate trans-ssDNase activity. However, the sensitivity of Cas12a-based diagnostics remains insufficient for clinical use without a pre-amplification step such as loop-mediated isothermal amplification, and therefore the trans-cleavage activity of Cas12a needs to be enhanced. Here, we present a novel strategy to enhance the trans-cleavage activity of Cas12a by reducing the steric hindrance from cis-cleavage products.

Methods: We conducted an extensive search across the Medline, Embase, and Cochrane databases to identify studies investigating SMRs for all-cause and/or cause-specific mortality in individuals with RA compared to the general population. Subsequently, we performed a comprehensive meta-analysis, examining SMRs across various categories, including all-cause, sex-specific, ethnicity-specific, and cause-specific SMRs in RA patients.

Methods: We randomly assigned patients with suspected acute stroke that caused a motor deficit and with elevated systolic blood pressure (≥150 mm Hg), who were assessed in the ambulance within 2 hours after the onset of symptoms, to receive immediate treatment to lower the systolic blood pressure (target range, 130 to 140 mm Hg) (intervention group) or usual blood-pressure management (usual-care group).
