Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 20 pairs of CT scans and same-day chest radiographs from 17 patients with COVID-19, along with 20 chest radiographs of controls. All pulmonary opacities were semiautomatically segmented on CT images, producing an anteroposterior projection image to match the corresponding frontal chest radiograph.
Right ventricular (RV) failure is a major cause of death in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension, and the mechanism of RV failure remains unclear. While the malfunction of RyR2 (ryanodine receptor type 2) on sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) and aberrant Ca cycling in cardiomyocytes have been recognized in some cardiovascular diseases, their roles in RV failure secondary to pulmonary arterial hypertension require further investigation. In a monocrotaline-induced rat model of pulmonary arterial hypertension, the RV remodeling process was divided into normal, compensated, and decompensated stages according to the hemodynamic and morphological parameters.

Objective: We hypothesized that the hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) 1α in vascular smooth muscle contributes to the development of atherosclerosis, and links intravascular pressure to this process.
Approach And Results: Transverse aortic constriction was used to create high-pressure vascular segments in control, apolipoprotein E (ApoE)(-/-), smooth muscle-HIF1α(-/-), and ApoE(-/-)×smooth muscle-HIF1α(-/-) double-knockout mice. Transverse aortic constriction selectively induced atherosclerosis in high-pressure vascular segments in young ApoE(-/-) mice on normal chow, including coronary plaques within 1 month.
Catalytic pyrolysis of microalgae and egg whites was investigated to evaluate the performance of different zeolites for the production of aromatic hydrocarbons. Three zeolites with different structures (H-Y, H-Beta and H-ZSM5) were used to study the effect of catalyst type on the aromatic yield.
