Aims: Clonal haematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP), defined as a clonal expansion of age-related recurrent somatic mutations, has recently emerged as a novel cardiovascular risk factor. However, the precise role of CHIP in the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) remains unclear.
Methods And Results: Among 4300 asymptomatic Korean participants aged 40-79 years, we investigated the risk of ASCVD by CHIP and the interplay between CHIP and conventional risk factors in ASCVD development.
Targeted protein degradation (TPD) technology, such as proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC), has become a new therapeutic modality. However, the degradation of undruggable proteins, such as those involved in protein-protein interactions (PPIs), using PROTAC is still limited owing to the difficulties in finding small-molecule binders of these proteins. To identify new chemical moieties that bind to the target sites of the protein of interest (POI), we conducted a site-specific and fragment-based covalent ligand screening using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).

However, the comparative effectiveness of OCT-guided and IVUS-guided PCI regarding clinical outcomes is unknown.
Methods: In this prospective, multicenter, open-label, pragmatic trial, we randomly assigned 2008 patients with significant coronary artery lesions undergoing PCI in a 1:1 ratio to undergo either an OCT-guided or IVUS-guided PCI.
Background The 2017 international consensus guidelines for intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) of the pancreas are widely used. Purpose To evaluate the interobserver agreement and diagnostic performance of MRI assessment in predicting the malignant potential of IPMN according to radiologists' experience. Materials and Methods This multicenter retrospective study included 100 patients with pathologically proven pancreatic IPMN (77 patients with surgery, 23 patients with biopsy) who underwent contrast-enhanced MRI between 2016 and 2021.

Hence, we investigated whether left vertebral artery hypoplasia is associated with cardiac embolisms with atrial fibrillation in the posterior circulation and its functional outcomes.
Materials And Methods: In this monocentric retrospective study, patients with acute cardioembolic stroke with atrial fibrillation were enrolled and underwent CT or neck MRA, which visualized the aortic arch and subclavian arteries.

Background And Objectives: We evaluated the association between admission glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and subsequent risk of composite vascular events, including stroke, myocardial infarction (MI), and vascular death, in patients with acute ischemic stroke and diabetes.
Methods: Patients who had a TIA or an acute ischemic stroke within 7 days of symptom onset and diabetes were included in a retrospective cohort design using the stroke registry of the Clinical Research Center for Stroke in Korea. The association between admission HbA1c and composite vascular events, including stroke, MI, and vascular death, during 1-year follow-up was estimated using the Fine-Gray model.
Background And Purpose: The treatment paradigm for very large and giant aneurysms has recently changed to flow diversion, in light of the results of the Pipeline for Uncoilable or Failed Aneurysms trial. However, the effects of flow diversion were definitely unknown. We explored this topic and identified the predictors of such effects.

Methods- We collected data from patients with acute ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack from a multicenter stroke registry database in Korea. The association of hemoglobin concentration with 1-year stroke recurrence and composite vascular events was evaluated with respect to age, presence of cerebral artery stenosis, stroke severity, and stroke subtype.

BPA is also suspected to cross placenta in pregnancy and might affect children's health. The present study was aimed to evaluate the effect of prenatal exposure to BPA on the BP of the child at the age of 4.

Context: Recently, an arginine-to-cysteine homozygous mutation at position 25 in mature PTH was reported in a Korean patient with hypoparathyroidism.
Objective: To clarify whether the high bone mass phenotype observed in this patient was related to the hypoparathyroidism itself or to chronic elevation of mutant PTH.
Methods: A series of in vitro and in vivo experiments were performed in MC3T3E1, ROS 17/2.
Purpose To determine the relationship between lamellar layer thickness on ultrashort echo time (UTE) magnetic resonance (MR) images and indentation stiffness of human menisci and to compare quantitative MR imaging values between two groups with normal and abnormally thick lamellar layers. Materials and Methods This was a HIPAA-compliant, institutional review board-approved study. Nine meniscal pieces were obtained from seven donors without gross meniscal pathologic results (mean age, 57.

Methods: This study is an analysis of a prospective multicenter stroke registry database from 14 hospitals in South Korea. Patients with acute noncardioembolic stroke, who were taking aspirin for prevention of ischemic events at the time of onset of stroke, were enrolled.
Objectives: To evaluate automated texture-based segmentation of dual-energy CT (DECT) images in diffuse interstitial lung disease (DILD) patients and prognostic stratification by overlapping morphologic and perfusion information of total lung.
Methods: Suspected DILD patients scheduled for surgical biopsy were prospectively included. Texture patterns included ground-glass opacity (GGO), reticulation and consolidation.
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical used in plastic bottles and inner coating of beverage cans, and its exposure is almost ubiquitous. BPA has been associated with hypertension and decreased heart rate variability in the previous studies. The aim of the present study was to determine whether increased BPA exposure from consumption of canned beverage actually affects blood pressure and heart rate variability.

Objective: Angiogenesis is an important biological process during development, reproduction, and in immune responses. Placental growth factor (PlGF) is a member of vascular endothelial growth factor that is critical for angiogenesis and vasculogenesis. We generated transgenic mice overexpressing PlGF in specifically T cells using the human CD2-promoter to investigate the effects of PlGF overexpression.

Using a cocktail assay, the effects of sarpogrelate on nine CYP isoforms and M-1 were measured by specific marker reactions in human liver microsomes. Sarpogrelate potently and selectively inhibited CYP2D6-mediated dextromethorphan O-demethylation with an IC50 (Ki) value of 3.
