Therapeutic resistance represents a bottleneck to treatment in advanced gastric cancer (GC). Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent form of non-apoptotic cell death and is associated with anti-cancer therapeutic efficacy. Further investigations are required to clarify the underlying mechanisms.

Background: Systolic blood pressure (SBP) time in target range (TTR) indicates the mean value, exposure time, and variability in blood pressure over time. The prognostic value of SBP TTR for incident atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with hypertension is unclear.

Methods: We performed a post hoc analysis of SPRINT (Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial), a randomized controlled trial comparing intensive (<120 mm Hg) and standard (<140 mm Hg) SBP interventions in participants with hypertension.

Background: Lymphatic vessels are responsible for tissue drainage, and their malfunction is associated with chronic diseases. Lymph uptake occurs via specialized open cell-cell junctions between capillary lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs), whereas closed junctions in collecting LECs prevent lymph leakage. LEC junctions are known to dynamically remodel in development and disease, but how lymphatic permeability is regulated remains poorly understood.

Background: Establishing registries to collect demographic characteristics, processes of care, and outcomes of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) can better understand epidemiological trends, measure care quality, and identify opportunities for improvement. This study aimed to describe the design, implementation, and scientific significance of a nationwide registry-the BASIC-OHCA (Baseline Investigation of Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest)-in China.

Methods: BASIC-OHCA was designed as a prospective, multicenter, observational, population-based study.

The discovery of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor (PHI) has revolutionized the treatment strategy for renal anemia. However, the presence of multiple transcription targets of HIF raises safety concerns regarding HIF-PHI. Here, we explored the dose-dependent effect of MK-8617 (MK), a kind of HIF-PHI, on renal fibrosis.

A growing body of epidemiological research show that Bisphenol A (BPA) is positively correlated with obesity and metabolic disorders. However, the mechanisms of BPA on adiposity remain largely unknown. In this study, we found that 5-week-old male and female C57BL/6J mice exposed to four dosages of BPA (5, 50, 500, and 5000 μg/kg/d) by oral intake for 30 days showed significantly increased body weight and fat mass in a nonmonotonic dose-dependent manner when fed a chow diet.

Brain metastasis (BM) is increasingly diagnosed in Her2 positive breast cancer (BC) patients. Lack of effective treatment to breast cancer brain metastases (BCBMs) is probably due to inability of the current therapeutic agents to cross the blood-brain barrier. The central nervous system (CNS) response rate in BCBM patients was reported to improve from 2.

Background And Purpose: ANRIL has long been considered as the strongest candidate gene at the 9p21 locus, robustly associated with stroke and coronary artery disease. However, the underlying molecular mechanism remains unknown. The present study works to elucidate such a mechanism.
