Background: Septic necrosis of the femoral head and neck in children represents a challenging problem. Several reconstructive techniques have been described but with disappointing long-term results. Vascularized epiphyseal transfer utilizing the proximal fibula have been successfully used for reconstruction of the proximal humerus and distal radius and only scarcely used for hip reconstruction.

Outcome of Flexor Tendon Repair Using Eight-Strand Core Stitch Without Postoperative Finger Splinting.

Joint preservation surgery for correcting adolescents' spasmodic flatfoot deformity: early results from a specialized North African foot and ankle unit.

Purpose: We aimed to report early results of performing joint-preserving surgeries for managing spasmodic flatfoot deformity (SFFD) in adolescents.

Methods: A prospective case series study including 24 patients (27 feet) diagnosed with idiopathic SFFD not responding to conservative management. After reassessment under anesthesia, surgical procedures included soft tissue releases (Achilles tendon (AT), peroneus brevis (PB), peroneus tertius (PT) (if present), and extensor digitorum longus (EDL)), bony osteotomies (lateral column lengthening (LCL), medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy (MDCO), and double calcaneal osteotomy (DCO)), and medial soft tissue reconstruction or augmentation if needed.

Treatment of Concomitant Congenital Pseudarthrosis of the Fibula With Propeller Periosteal Flap.

Introduction: Congenital pseudarthrosis of the fibula is not an uncommon condition to accompany congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia. Persistence of the fibular pseudarthrosis has been linked to inferior outcomes including tibial union and alignment, refractures, and ankle alignment. In this report, we present the results of a pedicled periosteal propeller flap technique for the treatment of fibular pseudarthrosis.
