Background: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used to automate detection of retinal diseases from retinal images with great success, in particular for screening for diabetic retinopathy, a major complication of diabetes. Since persons with diabetes routinely receive retinal imaging to evaluate their diabetic retinopathy status, AI-based retinal imaging may have potential to be used as an opportunistic comprehensive screening for multiple systemic micro- and macro-vascular complications of diabetes.
Methods: We conducted a qualitative systematic review on published literature using AI on retina images to detect systemic diabetes complications.
The synergistic bioactive effect of polyphenols can enhance the development of functional foods to prevent chronic diseases such as cancer. Curcumin and quercetin have been shown to possess anticancer properties. The combination of curcumin and quercetin has been shown to provide synergistic effects against cancer cell proliferation.

We hypothesized that the administration of cangrelor at reperfusion will reduce MI size and prevent microvascular obstruction in patients with ST-segment-elevation MI undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
Methods: This was a phase 2, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial conducted between November 2017 to November 2021 in 6 cardiac centers in Singapore.
Background: Bisphenol A (BPA) is an exogenous endocrine disruptor mimicking hormones closely associated with health complications, such as cancer progression. BPA is also related to an increase in the prevalence of obesity-related diseases due to its obesogenic action. Bombesin-like receptor 3 (BRS3) is an important factor that should be considered in the adipogenic gene network, as depletion of this gene alters adiposity.

Previous studies assessing risk factors for readmissions have focused on single group of risk factors, were limited to 30-day readmissions, or did not account for competing risk of mortality. This study investigates the biological, socio-economic, and behavioural risk factors predicting hospital readmissions while accounting for the competing risk of mortality.
