Behavioural interventions to increase adherence to palivizumab prophylaxis in children with CHD.

Objectives: Adherence to palivizumab prophylaxis programmes is crucial to protect infants with CHD against respiratory syncytial virus infections. We analysed the effectiveness of two nudge interventions in increasing adherence.

Methods: Our study included 229 infants, and their caregivers, from five centers in Turkey in the 2020-2021 respiratory syncytial virus season.

Comparison of the outcomes of overlapping and direct apposition sphincteroplasty techniques in anal sphincter repair.

Objectives: Sphincteroplasty is of great importance in the repair of anal sphincter damage. In the present study, we compared the results of overlapping sphincteroplasty and direct apposition techniques used in anal sphincter repair.

Material And Methods: Between 2011 and 2021, 36 patients underwent sphincteroplasty for anal sphincter injury and were analysed retrospectively.

The Effect of Genistein on Anastomotic Healing in Intestinal Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury.

Introduction: Genistein is a natural isoflavonoid and has several pharmacological effects, such as antioxidant, antitumor activity, and improvement of glucose metabolism. The safety of intestinal anastomosis after ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is a critical issue for surgeons. This experimental study aimed to investigate the effects of genistein on anastomotic healing after intestinal I/R injury.

Multifocal diffuse large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the colon.

Background: Large cell neuroendocrine carcinomas (LCNEC) of the colon are an extremely rare and aggressive type of colorectal cancer. While multifocality is more frequently seen in small intestine NECs, no cases of multifocal NEC of the colon have been reported before.

Risk factors for mortality in Fournier's gangrene of anorectal origin.

Background: In the present study, we aimed to determine the risk factors for mortality in Fournier's gangrene (FG), which has a high morbidity and mortality rate and requires urgent surgical intervention.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was made of 150 patients who were operated on in our clinic due to FG of anorectal origin be-tween 2010 and 2020. The cases were divided into survival and non-survival groups.
