DNA methylation is known to be associated with cataracts. In this study, we used a mouse model and performed DNA methylation and transcriptome sequencing analyses to find epigenetic indicators for age-related cataracts (ARC). Anterior lens capsule membrane tissues from young and aged mice were analyzed by MethylRAD-seq to detect the genome-wide methylation of extracted DNA.

And acute ankle sprains can easily develop into chronic ankle instability, thereby increasing the difficulty of treatment. The current clinical guidelines for post-acute ankle sprains are still controversial.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA post-transition state surface intersection (PTSSI) between radical and zwitterionic states that causes a bifurcation in the reaction pathway was discovered through density functional theory calculations on potential energy surfaces and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations of cycloadditions between a bicyclobutane and a triazolinedione (BCB-TAD). It was predicted that changes to the solvent polarity would enable control over the dynamic selectivity in this system; indeed, experimental evidence supported this prediction. This work not only provides new insights into an unusual type of post-transition state bifurcation, but also demonstrates how the nonstatistical dynamic effects that control selectivity for such reactions can be manipulated rationally to increase the yields of synthetically useful reactions.

Accurate detection of ammonia is crucial in this process for evaluating the efficiency and selectivity of electrocatalysts. In this study, we systematically investigate the indophenol blue method for ammonia detection, examining the effects of key factors such as solution pH, nitrate concentration, and metal ion concentration on measurement accuracy.
