Osteosarcoma tissues demonstrated elevated expression of proteins (FDX1 and DLAT) integral to cuproptosis in our preliminary study, indicating the potential effectiveness of anti-tumor strategies predicated on this process. Nevertheless, the overexpression of copper export proteins and the challenge of copper ion penetration may contribute to insufficient local copper ion concentration for inducing cuproptosis. Herein, we engineered a biomimetic copper-elesclomol-polyphenol network for the efficient delivery of copper ions and the copper ionophore elesclomol.

The gut microbiota, as a complex ecosystem, can affect many physiological aspects of the host's diet, disease development, drug metabolism, and immune system regulation. Polysaccharides have various biological activities including antioxidant, anti-tumor, and regulating gut microbiota, etc. Polysaccharides cannot be degraded by human digestive enzymes.

We report here a BiWO/TiCT@Ag (BT@Ag) photothermal photocatalyst for efficient CO reduction with tunable CH selectivity. Incorporation of TiCT MXene creates well-defined heterointerfaces between BiWO and TiCT and converts thermal energy upon light illumination via photothermal effect, which contributes to a mitigation of the recombination of photo-induced charge carries for a high electron mobility. Density functional theory calculations substantiate that TiCT functions as the adsorption site and active center where the transferred electrons are effectively involved in CO reduction for enhanced CH selectivity.

Periodontal ligament fibroblasts (PDLFs) play a crucial role in the etiology of periodontitis and periodontal tissue regeneration. In healthy periodontal tissues, PDLFs maintain the homeostasis of periodontal soft and hard tissues as well as the local immune microenvironment. PDLFs also have the potential for multidirectional transdifferentiation and are involved in periodontal tissue regeneration.

Background: Ultrasound training is crucial for residents across specialties but presents challenges for residents that are not specializing in ultrasound. Investigating the effectiveness of competency-based ultrasound curricula for a wider range of medical specialties is imperative.

Methods: A total of 250 residents who attended the ultrasound curriculum between June 2023 and June 2024 were included in the analysis.
