Reexamining the anomalous spin-orbit interactions of light around Fresnel coefficient singularities.

Using a full-wave theory to analyze the light beam scattering at sharp interfaces, we reexamine the anomalous spin-orbit interaction (SOI) around the Fresnel coefficient (FC) singularities. We evaluate the spin-dependent beam shifts near the singularity for three typical optical interfaces, comparing our results with existing ones. Existing theories neglect the contribution of the wave vector component near the FC singularities, potentially leading to erroneous results.

This paper reports an Ag-Bi-S-based nanotheranostic platform with an ingeniously designed heterostructure, an appropriate size, and good imaging and therapy performances. By comparing the fluorescence property and Bi element content, the optimal heterostructure was demonstrated to be AgS/BiS core/shell. Comparison of the effects of remimazolam and dexmedetomidine on the quality of recovery in functional endoscopic sinus surgery: a randomized clinical trial.

Background: Postoperative pain usually occur in patients who have undergone functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). Remimazolam and dexmedetomidine could enhance the quality of recovery (QoR) after surgery. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of remimazolam and dexmedetomidine with respect to the QoR-40 score of patients who have undergone FESS.

Linitis Plastica in a Patient With Previous Breast Cancer: Primary Gastric Cancer or Breast Cancer Metastases?

Background: Linitis plastica is a challenging diagnosis in the setting of a patient with previous breast cancer.

Case Presentation: We present a case of a 74-year-old Chinese Female with a history of breast cancer who presented with epigastric pain, nausea, early satiety, and weight loss of 5 kg in 3 months. Endoscopic diagnosis of linitis plastica was made, but subsequent management plans were dependent on accurate histological assessment in view of her oncological history.
