Introduction Sutureless enterostomy is used as an effective technique for constructing an enterostomy in very low and extremely low birth weight infants in Japan. Sutureless enterostomy is a separate type of enterostomy procedure for low birth weight infants. We adapted this technique and developed sutureless loop enterostomy (SLE), an approach without a skin bridge in which the intestinal wall is not sutured to the abdominal wall.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic ability of 5-(5-(2-(2-(2-F-fluoroethoxy) ethoxy) ethoxy) benzofuran-2-yl)-N-methylpyridin-2-amine (F-FPYBF-2) dynamic PET for patients with cardiac amyloidosis (CA).

Methods: The subjects were patients diagnosed with proven amyloidosis (n = 16) including transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTR-CA) (n = 7) and light chain amyloidosis (AL amyloidosis) (n = 9), of which 4 and 5 with (AL-CA) and without (AL-nCA) cardiac involvement, and 4 control subjects suffering from some symptoms of cardiac failure without amyloidosis (CTL). Thirty minutes dynamic F-FPYBF-2 PET/CT was performed to evaluate the time activity curve and the retention index (mRI) as the ratio of the myocardial SUV at 15 to 5 min.

Background And Study Aims: Prophylactic clip closure after colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) among patients on anticoagulants is of uncertain effectiveness in reducing delayed bleeding (DB) risk. We aimed to assess the effect of prophylactic clip closure in preventing DB after colorectal ESD among patients on anticoagulants.

Patients And Methods: We used the ABCD-J study database, a large-scale multicenter study analyzing DB among 34,455 colorectal ESD cases from 47 Japanese institutions.

Several cases of glomerulonephritis occurring after infection with human parvovirus B19 (PVB19) have been reported. However, the pathogenesis and clinicopathological features of PVB19-related glomerulonephritis remain elusive. We describe the case of a 34 year-old woman who showed nephrotic syndrome and microscopic hematuria 10 days after PVB19 infection.

Objective: In the loop technique for mitral valve repair, the loop bundles are usually created during cardiac arrest after chordal length measurements, which seems time-consuming and less reproducible. To address this issue, we determined the loop length preoperatively using 4-dimensional computed tomography.

Methods: The loop length was determined on the basis of the distance from the papillary muscle head to the free margin of nonprolapsing leaflet corresponding to the prolapsed leaflet, to which the loops would be secured.
